Kentucky Fan Takes Big Risk by Getting '2014 National Champions' Tattoo

Getting a tattoo to proclaim your team champions before it happens is a risky move.

One Seattle Seahawks fan's risk of getting a Super Bowl XLVIII tattoo before the 2013-14 NFL season paid off. A Kentucky Wildcats fan is hoping he gets lucky as well after he paid $80 to get a "2014 national champions" tattoo on his leg.

The fan with the tattoo, Tyler Austin Black, came within one victory of being rewarded for his loyalty to his team. Unfortunately for him, Connecticut was able to pull out a 60-54 victory over Kentucky in the 2014 NCAA championship game.

Despite the Wildcats' loss,'s Darren Rovell reported that Black intends to keep the tattoo.

"I'm keeping it," Black said. "It's a way to remember this team and it's part of my life story."

The 22-year-old made a bold move to get inked before the tournament was even played. Now, he has a way of remembering Kentucky's unbelievable run in the 2014 NCAA tournament.

The Wildcats were ranked No. 1 in the preseason, so it would have been more reasonable had he gotten the tattoo done before the season. Now that Kentucky is unranked heading into the NCAA tournament, it looks like a very risky move.

He's hoping he doesn't turn into the Denver Broncos fan who got a Super Bowl champions tattoo before this year's big game.
