Yes, another recruit. You heard it here.
Do a quick search on Google and not much will pop up from the official Virginia Tech websites.
That's because this recruit isn't officially signed yet; however, he has made his decision on where to play, and that's Virginia Tech.
The kicker is that this player isn't American, he's Dutch!
Johan “Joey” van Zegeren is the newest Hokie to join the party in what is turning out to be probably the best recruiting class in Virginia Tech history.
Van Zegeren is a 6'10'' power forward/center who is a fantastic shot blocker and can shoot from the three-point line. Sound like someone in the NBA playoffs currently?
You should see his highlight tape.
As you'll see, he is a great rebounder and blocks A LOT of shots. He seems athletic and has a good touch on his shot.
The fact of the matter is that whether announced formally or not, all signs are pointing to another Hokie being brought in.
This team has a lot of incoming talent and can be very, very, VERY good next season if the freshmen can come in and contribute immediately either as starters or effective bench players.
The ceiling is very high my fellow Hokies—very high indeed.
