LAS VEGAS - MARCH 13: Brandon Ewing #25 of the Wyoming Cowboys brings the ball up the court against the Utah Utes during a semifinal game of the Conoco Mountain West Conference Basketball Championships at the Thomas & Mack Center March 13, 2009 in Las Ve

It was a great year in college basketball this year; great games, great teams, a true year to remember.

But like every year in college basketball, there were some teams that simply didn't look that great.

There is a long history of ugly basketball jerseys. Wyoming seems to be a perennial player on the ugly uniform list.

There were a lot more good looking jerseys than there were not good looking this season, so finding the top 25 was tough.

I'm sure that there will be a lot of people the disagree with some of the slides on this list, so if you do just leave a comment and tell me who you think that it is.

This list is the 25 ugliest jerseys of the year.

The Old English "R" is one of my favorite logos in all of college baseball.

In college basketball however, it simply doesn't work.

There is a reason that nobody uses the Old English style for basketball, because it turns out as bad as it did for Rice.

Dayton's uniforms are close to being really great—I think if an adult would have designed the uniforms and not a third grader.

The 3-D block letters and the reverse baseball swoosh coming off the 'n' is enough to make these uniforms terrible.

Dayton is close, but ultimately the jerseys are no good.

NEWARK, NJ - MARCH 25: Jae Crowder #32 of the Marquette Golden Eagles in action against the North Carolina Tar Heels during the east regional semifinal of the 2011 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament at the Prudential Center on March 25, 2011 in Newark, New

I know that there are going to be some people that disagree with my choice to put Marquette on the list, but their jerseys are a like it or hate it kind of thing.

For me, it's just too much going on. The stripes down the side and around the shoulders are too much to handle.

The baby blue jerseys are bad, the yellow are worse.

PITTSBURGH, PA - JANUARY 17: C.J. Fair #5 of the Syracuse Orange looks on in the last seconds of the game against the Pittsburgh Panthers at Petersen Events Center on January 17, 2011 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Panthers defeated the Orange 74-66.

Typically I really like Syracuse's uniforms but this year it was miss for me.

The block letters, the grey numbers and the blocks down the sides of the shorts are too much to handle.

In their defense, the white jerseys are significantly better than the orange.

CHARLOTTE, NC - MARCH 18: Steven Pearl #22 of the Tennessee Volunteers reacts in the second half while taking on the Michigan Wolverines during the second round of the 2011 NCAA men's basketball tournament at Time Warner Cable Arena on March 18, 2011 in

Tennessee can't really control the light orange color, so I will try not to hold that against them. But why do the black?

The football team doesn't have black and they look great, the basketball team looks like weird tigers.

The black makes the jersey a big fail.

Texas A&M

CHICAGO, IL - MARCH 18: Khris Middleton #22 of the Texas A&M Aggies shoots against the Florida State Seminoles in the first half during the second round of the 2011 NCAA men's basketball tournament at the United Center on March 18, 2011 in Chicago, Illin

Texas A&M is another team that is close to having really good uniforms, but the font ruins it.

The Old Western style font screams Texas A&M and maybe that's why they did it, but unfortunately for the Aggies, it doesn't work on a basketball jersey as well as it does on a wanted poster.

Iowa State

KANSAS CITY, MO - MARCH 09: Diante Garrett #10 of the Iowa State Cyclones looks to move the ball against the Colorado Buffaloes during the first round of the 2011 Phillips 66 Big 12 Men's Basketball Tournament at Sprint Center on March 9, 2011 in Kansas

Iowa state went for the yellow writing on maroon cloth USC approach.

Iowa State is not USC, enough said.

WASHINGTON - MARCH 19: Ibrahima Thomas #32 of Cincinnati celebrates with teammate Yancy Gates #34 against Connecticut during the third round of the 2011 NCAA men's basketball tournament at Verizon Center on March 19, 2011 in Washington, DC. (Photo by Ni

Cincinnati used to have some of the best looking uniforms in the country.

This year apparently a bear attacked the shoulders and the shorts of all the jerseys. Is that supposed to be a claw scratch?

Whatever it is, it doesn't belong on a basketball jersey.

NEW YORK, NY - JANUARY 30: Mason Plumlee #5 of the Duke Blue Devils talks to teammate Kyle Singler #12 against the St John's Red Storm at Madison Square Garden on January 30, 2011 in New York City. (Photo by Nick Laham/Getty Images)

Duke has good looking white uniforms. Duke has good looking blue uniforms. Duke has really bad looking black uniforms.

Why the black? I don't know, but it doesn't work.

Boise State

LAS VEGAS, NV - DECEMBER 08: La'Shard Anderson #12 of the Boise State Broncos looks to pass against the UNLV Rebels during their game at The Orleans Arena December 8, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada. UNLV won 75-72. (Photo by Ethan Miller/Getty Images)

Boise State is known for the blue field. The blue field looks good. The blue jerseys don't.

While I don't like the uniforms because of the the size of the font and the letters, that isn't what makes it a bad jersey.

The blue socks and blue shoes on the other hand, that is what makes it a bad jersey.

Florida State

11 of 20

CHICAGO, IL - MARCH 20: Derwin Kitchen #22 of the Florida State Seminoles runs up court in the first half against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish during the third round of the 2011 NCAA men's basketball tournament at the United Center on March 20, 2011 in
    Jamie Squire/Getty Images

I like the idea that Florida State had when they designed their jerseys.

I love the colors and the pattern. The font is horrible. The flares coming off each of the letters are terrible; it's not pilot school.

Ohio State

12 of 20

CLEVELAND, OH - MARCH 20: David Lighty #23 of the Ohio State Buckeyes runs up court after a play against the George Mason Patriots during the third of the 2011 NCAA men's basketball tournament at Quicken Loans Arena on March 20, 2011 in Cleveland, Ohio.

This slide will be similar to Duke's slide.

Ohio State has great white jerseys. Ohio State has great red jerseys. Ohio State has awful grey jerseys.

Washington State

13 of 20

LOS ANGELES, CA - MARCH 10: Klay Thompson #1 of the Washington State Cougars walks off the court after the Cougars lost to the Washington Huskies 89-87 in the quarterfinals of the 2011 Pacific Life Pac-10 Men's Basketball Tournament at Staples Center on

So many letters, so little jersey.

Do I need to say anything? Yellow and brown, 3-D letters. I think I've made my point.

HOUSTON, TX - APRIL 04: Matt Howard #54 of the Butler Bulldogs reacts after a play against the Connecticut Huskies during the National Championship Game of the 2011 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament at Reliant Stadium on April 4, 2011 in Housto

Butler had another magical season this year.

After two Final Four appearances in a row I think that it's time for Butler to upgrade their jerseys. They look a lot like high school jerseys.

The Runnin' Utes. I don't mind the name Runnin' Utes but it's terrible written out on the front of the uniform.

17 of 20

GREENSBORO, NC - MARCH 11: Durand Scott #1 of the Miami Hurricanes looks to pass during the first half against the North Carolina Tar Heels in the quarterfinals of the 2011 ACC men's basketball tournament at the Greensboro Coliseum on March 11, 2011 in
    Streeter Lecka/Getty Images

I was always under the impression that Miami's colors were green, orange and white. I guess I was wrong?

Virginia Tech

18 of 20

GREENSBORO, NC - MARCH 12: Malcolm Delaney #23 of the Virginia Tech Hokies looks on during the second half against the Duke Blue Devils in the semifinals of the 2011 ACC men's basketball tournament at the Greensboro Coliseum on March 12, 2011 in Greensbo
    Streeter Lecka/Getty Images

Virginia Tech should really stick to the maroon and white uniforms. The orange is bad.

19 of 20

DENVER, CO - MARCH 19: David Stockton #11, Elias Harris #20, Steven Gray #41 and Robert Sacre #00 of the Gonzaga Bulldogs celebrate after a playing against the Brigham Young Cougars during the third round of the 2011 NCAA men's basketball tournament at P
    Justin Edmonds/Getty Images

Besides the weird writing, the part that makes Gonzaga's jerseys so bad is on the back. The "Go Zags" that is hidden in the black looks tacky and childish.

    Good idea, bad results.

Kansas State

TUCSON, AZ - MARCH 17: Devon Peterson #2 of the Kansas State Wildcats celebrates after they defeated the Utah State Aggies 73 to 68 in the second round of the 2011 NCAA men's basketball tournament at McKale Center on March 17, 2011 in Tucson, Arizona. (

I don't know where the grey idea came from but it is bad. Especially when they sweat and the purple and grey blend together.

Kansas State can rest assured knowing that they have the worst uniforms in the country.
