Long Island looks to grab the NEC automatic bid.

Dates:  March 3, 6 and 9

Bracket: Northeast Conference

Sites:  All games will be held at the site of the higher seed.

Television:  The championship will be broadcast on ESPN2.

Tourney Fact:  Teams will be reseeded after the quarterfinals.

Favorite:  Long Island (24-5, 16-2) dominated the Northeast Conference during the regular season.  The Blackbirds closed out the regular season with 10-straight wins and should find a way to get to the championship game.

Best of the Rest:  Quinnipiac (21-8, 13-5) has been hot, winning nine of their last 10.  The Bobcats lost in their only meeting with Long Island, 84-74.  Robert Morris (16-13, 12-6) was one of two teams to hand Long Island a conference loss.

Sleeper:  Long Island opens the tournament against eighth-seeded St. Francis (PA) (9-20, 7-11).  The Red Flash was the only other team in the Northeast Conference to beat LIU.  Umar Shannon has the potential for an epic game to pull the upset.
