The No. 18 Butler Bulldogs knocked off the No. 9 Indiana Hoosiers in the Crossroads Classic on Saturday night.
Butler powered to a 14-point halftime advantage behind the shooting of Kelan Martin, who scored nine points of a 10-0 run to end the opening stanza.
Chris Holtmann's Bulldogs extended their advantage to 16 in the second half, but the Hoosiers made sure the win would not come easy.
Indiana was able to make it a one-possession game on a few occasions in the second half, but it failed to capitalized on a few defensive stops.
The win moved Butler to 5-1 in the Crossroads Classic that is contested between the four major Division I programs in the state of Indiana.
Martin led all scorers with 28 points. Andrew Chrabascz and Kamar Baldwin added 14 points each for the Bulldogs.
James Blackmon contributed 26 points in defeat for Indiana.
