KU's Frank Mason III Was Ridiculously Close to OU's Buddy Hield on Crucial Steal

Kansas guard Frank Mason III has zero regard for personal space. Just ask Oklahoma star Buddy Hield.

With 12 seconds left in Monday nightโ€™s third overtime between the nationโ€™s top two teams, Mason did all he could to preserve Kansasโ€™ 107-106 lead.

He was practically inside Hieldโ€™s jersey as the guard tried to make an inbounds pass. Mason tipped the ball, completed the steal, drew a foul and sunk both free throws with 7.9 seconds left.

Kansas won, 109-106.

But was Mason too close? Take a look:

It was a tremendous play by Mason, but thereโ€™s no denying he was closer than he should've been to Hield. Three feet people, three feet.ย
