Multiple People Arrested for Conduct Following Kentucky's Final Four Loss
Nearly 30 arrests were made late Saturday night into Sunday morning in Lexington, as students and fans took to the streets to riot following Kentucky's 71-64 loss to Wisconsin in the Final Four.
Paris Lewbel of ABC 36 reported there were 29 arrests made thus far, though there may be more in the coming hours:
Enraged following the collapse of the Wildcats' perfect season, fans were seen destroying property all over town and creating a long night for Lexington police. Lewbel reported different instances of fireworks being set off, fights being broken up by riot police and fires being set on State Street:
There is not believed to be any serious injuries at this time.
Kentucky, which had gone a record 38-0 heading into Saturday night, was looking to finish the first perfect season since Indiana in 1976. Frank Kaminsky scored 20 points to lead four Wisconsin players who scored in double figures, helping spur the program's first title game appearance since 1941.
The Badgers will play Duke on Monday night.
