Frank Kaminsky, Jahlil Okafor Headline 2014-15 AP All-America Team

Timothy RappMar 30, 2015

Frank Kaminsky and Jahlil Okafor are considered the front-runners for Player of the Year this season. So it hardly comes as a surprise that the pair would also headline the 2014-15 Associated Press All-America team.

The Associated Press announced the team Monday afternoon:

"

Wisconsin senior Frank Kaminsky is a unanimous selection for the 2014-15 AP All-America team while Duke freshman Jahlil Okafor received all but one first-team vote. Notre Dame senior Jerian Grant, Kentucky junior Willie Cauley-Stein and Ohio State freshman D'Angelo Russell rounded out the team that was announced Monday.

Kaminsky has been excellent this year, scoring 18.2 points per game and averaging 8.0 rebounds while leading Wisconsin to the Final Four. Both Okafor (17.7 PPG, 9.0 PPG) and Willie Cauley-Stein (9.1 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 1.7 BPG) also helped lead Duke and Kentucky, respectively, to the Final Four.

Cauley-Stein's stats may not seem as impressive as the others on this list, but consider the following from Synergy Sports on Twitter:

Cauley-Stein's defensive presence was huge for Kentucky this season, a major reason he earned this honor. He'll likely be spending his fair share of time trying to deal with Kaminsky when Kentucky and Wisconsin meet in the Final Four.

Jerian Grant certainly came close to leading his team to Indianapolis, as Notre Dame fell to Kentucky in the Elite Eight. Grant led the Fighting Irish with 16.8 points per game, while D'Angelo Russell established himself as a top-five NBA draft pick and one of the most dangerous scorers in the country, averaging 19.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.0 assists per contest.
