Indiana Hoosiers star guard Victor Oladipo is an outstanding all-around player known for his offensive efficiency. There are few better ways to boost one's shooting percentage than throwing down a nasty 360 dunk—precisely what Oladipo did in the Big Ten tournament quarterfinals against Illinois on Friday.
Stephen Douglas of Big Lead Sports originally captured and reported the highlight.
In the midst of an easy victory in Chicago's United Center, the Hoosiers forced a turnover as the Illini dribbled out of control on the perimeter. Suddenly, Indiana was in the open court on a four-man fast break with no defenders to thwart a basket.
That's when Oladipo took to the air, nonchalantly dribbling into the paint on the run, effortlessly soaring through the air and twisting around a complete rotation before slamming it home.
The dunk put an exclamation point on the Hoosiers' 80-64 victory in a game that wasn't close after the first 20 minutes. Oladipo finished with 12 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, but this was clearly the highlight of the afternoon.
Oladipo will figure prominently in the running for plenty of other individual accolades. After this thunderous finish on Friday, though, he may have made a case as the owner of college basketball's best slam dunk of the season.
