Louisville Cardinals Celebrate with Bill Clinton Following Big East Tourney Win

Richard LangfordJun 8, 2018

The Louisville Cardinals beat Villanova 74-55 in the Big East quarterfinals on Thursday night and then got a special treat.

They celebrated with the 42nd president of the United States, Bill Clinton.

Politics aside, it's not every day you get to hang out with a president, and these guys certainly seem to be enjoying the opportunity.

These pics, among others, were posted by Matt Norlander of CBS Sports after they became instant Instagram sensations.

It's hard to say what Clinton was doing in the Cardinals locker room to begin with. After all, he is from and was governor of Arkansas, and he never attended Louisville.

Yet there he was.

I can't imagine any other president hanging out in a college basketball locker room like this. While you will see politicians in countless photo ops, it's hard to believe they actually like being there. But in this case, Clinton seems to be legitimately enjoying himself.

Shoot, I'd be hard-pressed to tell you of another 66-year-old who would be comfortable in this kind of scene, let alone one who once ruled the free world.

Clinton doesn't appear to lack any energy at his age. He came up big for his party during the last election, makes speaking engagements, does interviews and, apparently, occasionally decides to party with a college basketball team.

This, I imagine, is something for which the members of this Louisville squad will be eternally grateful.
