The Boston College Eagles and the Clemson Tigers will both try and improve their position for next week’s ACC Tournament when they clash this Tuesday night at Littlejohn Coliseum. The game is set to tip off for 9 p.m. (ET), and it will be broadcast nationally on ESPNU.
The Eagles are coming off a stunning 53-52 victory over Virginia this past Sunday as four-point home underdogs to improve to 5-11 straight up in conference play. They are now 13-16 on the year and 13-10-2 against the spread. The total stayed “under” the 125-point line in that game and has now stayed under in six of their last eight games.
Clemson is also 5-11 in the ACC after losing to Virginia Tech, 69-61, as a one-point road favorite this past Saturday. It was its fourth loss in a row, SU, and third in four games, ATS. The total went “over” the 128.5-point line against the Hokies after staying under in four of its previous five games.
Boston College Eagles at Clemson Tigers Betting Storylines
It would take a miracle run in next week’s tournament to extend Boston College’s season into the NCAA Tournament, but this team has remained a tough out throughout the season. It lost to Miami by one point as a six-point home underdog and to Duke by one point at home as an 11-point underdog earlier in the season. In one of those five conference victories this year, the Eagles beat Clemson, 75-68, as 1.5-point favorites at home.
The overall numbers do not look so good with an average of 66.6 points a game and a 43.5 shooting percentage from the field, but BC does have two legitimate scorers in Ryan Anderson and Olivier Hanlon. These two have combined for 29.3 points and 12.2 rebounds a game this season. Anderson is hitting 48 percent of his shots from the floor, and Hanlon is shooting 34.2 percent from three-point range.
Clemson is another team that is reduced to role of playing spoiler in this year’s ACC Tournament, but its current form is pointing towards a very early exit from the competition. The Tigers did play the Hurricanes tough in a two-point loss as six-point home underdogs to kick off this recent four-game slide, but they have been outscored by a combined 32 points in their last three games.
Devin Booker leads the team in scoring with 13 points a game, but Clemson could be without its second-leading scorer KJ McDaniels, who is currently listed as questionable with an ankle injury. The team as a whole is averaging 62 points a game while shooting 42.5 percent from the field and 31.8 percent from beyond the arc. Defensively, the Tigers are allowing an average of 59.3 points a game.

College Basketball Picks: Boston College at Clemson Betting Predictions
The Tigers should not be overly affected by the loss of McDaniels if he cannot go, but they will struggle to win this game either way given their current overall form. While recent trends are stacked against Boston College in this matchup, look for the Eagles to use the momentum from Sunday’s upset to grab another one with the 3.5 points on Tuesday night.
