AP College Basketball Poll 2013: Complete Week 17 Standings Released

With two weeks left in the college basketball regular season, there’s been a bit of shakeup near the top of the AP Poll

While the Indiana Hoosiers managed to sneak by Michigan State and hold onto their No. 1 ranking, Miami wasn’t as fortunate. The Hurricanes were undressed, 80-65, by a 12-14 Wake Forest squad, and dropped from No. 2 to No. 5 in the process.

Gonzaga capitalized on this defeat, moving up to No. 2.

The Michigan State Spartans dropped from No. 4 to No. 9, after losses to both the Hoosiers and Ohio State.

Florida’s loss to Missouri was only by three points, but also cost the Gators three spots, moving back from No. 5 to No. 8.

Syracuse gave up 33 points to Otto Porter in a 57-46 loss to Georgetown. The Orange dropped from No. 8 to No. 12, while Georgetown shot up from No. 11 to No. 7.

No. 20 Butler continues to free-fall from the top of the polls, this time due to a loss to St. Louis. The defeat pushed the Bulldogs back from No. 15. Meanwhile, the Billikens skyrocketed to No. 18 from unranked territory.

One team that did earn some much-needed wins was Kentucky, but the Wildcats aren’t back in the Top 25 just yet. Even after beating the Missouri Tigers in overtime and handling business against Vanderbilt, coach John Calipari’s squad is still on the bubble.

No. 21 Notre Dame, No. 19 Memphis and No. 16 Ohio State all benefited from an undefeated stretch and moved up in the most recent AP poll.

The Fighting Irish knocked out Pittsburgh and Cincinnati to climb from No. 25, while the Tigers dispatched Houston and Southern Mississippi to gain two spots.

The Buckeyes easily crushed Minnesota and earned an eight-point victory against Big Ten rival Michigan State, which allowed them to move up two spots.
