Indiana vs. Michigan: Twitter Reaction, Postgame Recap and Analysis

The Indiana Hoosiers figure to once again be the top-ranked team in college basketball after an 81-73 win at home over the No. 1-ranked Michigan Wolverines.

Indiana took advantage of the home atmosphere in the early going. The Hoosiers jumped out to a 28-13 lead in the first 10 minutes behind strong performances from Cody Zeller and Victor Oladipo. However, Michigan wouldn't go down easily as it answered with a run of its own, cutting the deficit to 36-32 at halftime.

The second half would provide more of the same. The duo of Oladipo and Zeller got off to a hot start and refused to allow the top-ranked Wolverines to wrestle the lead away.

Zeller led the way. The Wolverines had no answer for the big man, who dominated inside the paint. He teamed up with Christian Watford to give Indiana an advantage on the boards that would leave Michigan with no chance to come back.

Michigan's Trey Burke did his best to put the Wolverines on his back and lead a heroic comeback, but it wasn't to be. Indiana simply played too well to be beaten by one player.

The Hoosiers outplayed Michigan in every facet of the game, shooting a higher percentage from the field, three-point range and the foul line. The Hoosiers also outrebounded the Wolverines, 36-22.

With a near-perfect performance against the top-ranked team in the country, there's no doubt that the Hoosiers belong at the top of the totem pole in college basketball.

Twitter Reaction

With Indiana getting off to a great start in front of its raucous home crowd, it would have been easy for the Wolverines to fold. Instead, they battled back all night. As author Koran Goodwin noted, that's a sign of composure for a young team.

ESPN's Eamonn Brennan provided Twitter with the video footage of Zeller's monster jam.

As ESPN Stats & Info pointed out, Indiana was able to come out hot to kick off both halves on its home floor.

This game truly had Twitter abuzz. Michigan Basketball tweeted out the list of trends during the game.

SportsCenter tweeted out the final score and noted Indiana's penchant for beating Michigan at home.

With all eyes on this matchup, the Hoosiers made a huge statement at home. The Wolverines will get a shot at redemption when Indiana travels to Ann Arbor to close out the regular season in March.
