Vikings vs. Seahawks: TV Schedule, Radio, Live Streaming, Game Time and More
The Vikings are set to travel to Seattle to take on the Seahawks in what will be the second preseason game for both teams.
Coming off of an NFC Championship game appearance in 2009, the Vikings had high expectations in 2010. Unfortunately, they struggled to a 6-10 season, missing the playoffs.
The Seahawks were only a game better in 2010, but won the NFC West at 7-9. They then pulled an upset in beating the defending champion New Orleans Saints by a score of 41-36 in the first round of the playoffs. Their season ended the next week in a 35-24 loss at the hands of the Chicago Bears.

Vikings' Key Addition
Quarterback Donovan McNabb was acquired in a trade from Minnesota.
After 11 mostly successful years in Philadelphia, McNabb had a tumultuous year with the Redskins in 2010. He threw for 3,377 yards with 14 touchdowns, 15 interceptions and a 77.1 passer rating in just 12 games.
Seahawks' Key Addition
Tarvaris Jackson was acquired from Minnesota. He will replace the departed Matt Hasselbeck, who had been in Seattle since 2001.
To help Jackson, Seattle brought in tight end Zach Miller from Oakland and Sidney Rice from Minnesota.
Vikings' Biggest Loss
Receiver Sidney Rice went to Seattle in the offseason. While he missed most of the 2010 season, Rice was stellar for Minnesota in 2009, catching 83 passes for 1,312 yards.
Rice's injuries were a big contributor to the down season that quarterback Brett Favre had. In 2009, Favre had a career year, while in 2010, he threw for just over 2,500 yards, 11 touchdowns and 19 interceptions.
Favre was also lost to retirement.
Defensively, lineman Pat Williams will also be a key departure from the Minnesota defensive line.
Seahawks' Biggest Loss
While his best days were behind him, Matt Hasselbeck was a stalwart quarterback for the Seahawks for the better part of the last decade. He has gone to Tennessee.
Replacing him is Tarvaris Jackson, who was Brett Favre's primary backup in Minnesota over the last two seasons.
What They're Saying
Vikings fans hope that they can bounce back from a lackluster 2010 season. The success of the team depends largely on the type of season that McNabb has.
The poor performance in the opening preseason game left a lot of fans frustrated, but Minnesota is a team with a lot of change that was dealing with a short offseason.
While Seahawks fans understood that it was time for Hasselbeck to go, Jackson is a huge question mark for most fans.
Vikings' Player To Watch
Quarterback Christian Ponder was drafted with the No. 12 pick in the 2011 NFL draft.
In his preseason debut, Ponder was 8-for-13 with 84 yards passing.
His development is important to the Vikings, as Ponder is the quarterback of the future. He is also the likely quarterback of the present if McNabb goes down.
That's significant, as McNabb has only played 16 games four times in his career and only once since 2003.
Seahawks' Player To Watch
Seattle is very dependent on Jackson's development as a quarterback.
He's been primarily used as a backup throughout his career. When Jackson's been on the field, he's been largely inconsistent.
It will be interesting to see how he plays against his former team.
Matchup To Watch
Vikings defensive line vs. Seahawks offensive line. Both units have a lot of questions that will need to be answered to enjoy a successful season.
Vikings' Position Battle
While the battle for playing time at receiver will be intriguing, the starting receiving slots are all but guaranteed to go to Percy Harvin and Michael Jenkins. Still, with Harvin out, Minnesota's group of receivers will have an opportunity to show their skills off against Seattle.
On the defensive line, Pat Williams is gone and Kevin Williams will likely miss early season games due to a suspension.
Remi Ayodele, Letroy Guion, Christian Ballard and Fred Evans will all be vying for playing time to replace the Williams'.
Seahawks' Position Battle
The position battle between Jackson and Charlie Whitehurst has potential to be a season long saga if Jackson remains inconsistent. Still, Jackson should begin the season as the starter.
While Russell Okung is solid at left tackle, the remainder of the offensive line is a question mark.
Will Max Unger reclaim the center position after missing most of last season?
Will rookie guard John Moffitt start over Paul Fanaika? Will rookie tackle earn a spot over Breno Giacomin? How will Robert Gallery adjust to the new scenario?
Key Storyline
Jackson going against the team that consistently passed him over. Normally preseason games aren't too significant, but if anyone ever had motivation to have a strong preseason game, it's Jackson.
Prediction
The Seahawks have the home-field advantage and have more battles running deeper on the depth chart.
31-14 Seahawks.
