NFL Quick Hits (Oct. 20th): Michael Crabtree To Start

Jets' Kris Jenkins Lost For Season

Jenkins will miss the rest of the 2009 season with a torn ACL, as feared, and could face a struggle to return in 2010. He's over 30 and with the injuries piling up over the years, there's no guarantee that he'll be back.

In the short-term, this kills the Jets' run-stopping prowess, and could hurt their defense overall in the long run.

Miles Austin New Starter For Dallas, Crayton Drops to No. 3 Spot

As we were saying in the beginning of the season, it was only a matter of time. Crayton is better suited for the slot, anyway.

Austin displayed the fact against Kansas City that he has way too much potential and big-play ability to be sitting on the bench. This should help Tony Romo and the passing game going forward.

Michael Crabtree to Start in Week Seven

Mike Singletary was hinting toward it, but now former 49ers starter Josh Morgan coughed it up, saying "They gave him my spot".

This kills all the buzz Morgan had been generating in the offseason, and gives Crabtree reasonable value heading into Week Seven. Look at him as a low-end WR4 for now, but he definitely has the talent to work his way up to a WR3.

However, with Shaun Hill throwing the ball, his ceiling is fairly limited.

Joey Galloway Cut From Patriots

He wasn't doing much on the field, and reports state that he didn't even fully grasp the offense. Galloway is still a burner, even at 38, but simply couldn't hack it in the Patriots complex offense, and was never really a factor.

Julian Edelman's mediocre stock just rose sky high in a potential-ridden offense.

Mark Sanchez Struggling, to Remain Starter

Sanchez threw five picks and single-handedly cost the Jets the game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, but he still has the confidence and firm vote of Rex Ryan and the rest of the team.

Switching to Kellen Clemens at this point would only kill Sanchez's confidence and probably wouldn't help the team very much. Sanchez's recent struggles can be attributed to dealing with a new receiver, the loss of Chansi Stuckey, and also not having Jerricho Cotchery last week.

Still, his decision-making has been absolutely terrible in two of his past three games. He is no longer a fantasy option.

Jason Campbell Still Starting For Washington

Jim Zorn panicked and benched him at halftime, and then watched as the veteran Todd Collins choked and blew the game the rest of the way.

There can't be much confidence in Campbell, but hopefully the switch of play-calling duties from Zorn to Sherman Lewis can spice things up a bit.

Eagles' Reggie Brown on Trading Block

Big shocker. He hasn't done anything for Philly for a couple of years now, and they have three or four receivers ahead of him that they like better.

However, his contract won't be easy for another team to swallow, and no one can be sure what Brown has to offer anymore. Kevin Curtis wouldn't be a horrible trade candidate either, as he has fallen out of favor as an Eagles' starter.
