TNA News: Mickie James Is Recording a New Album That Fans Can Be a Part of
According to mickiejames.com; the country singer/TNA Knockout is getting ready to record her second album.
This time out, she is looking for fans to help get it off the ground.
James has teamed up with kickstarter.com, a funding platform, that helps artists from all mediums promote themselves and get funding for their projects.
Each project has a term date, with a projected funding goal they need to reach. The artists can offer up whatever they want within reason to help obtain their funds. In Mickie's case, she has offered up everything from CD and Mp3 exclusives, to producer credits and a private performance.
Obviously, it depends on how much you donate as to what you get. However, if you are a big fan of James, but don't have a lot of money, the funding price starts at $10 which isn't too bad.
James' projected goal was $5,000 which she has surpassed. As of this article, she is at $9, 716. The closing date for this campaign is September 2 and James swears none of these "exclusives" will be available after the term date.
Personally, I am a bit surprised that the Diva-turned-country singer-turned-Knockout, didn't have $5,000 dollars of her own money to fund this project. I am by no means bashing this situation as I don't know how much she alone may have already sunk into this.
However, she is well on her way to getting this completed, so it should be interesting to see if it surpasses her debut CD in sales.
