Keeping Up With the Jets

HBO might want to reconsider renaming its NFL reality series to “Hard Knocks— Keeping Up With the Jets”. Woody Johnson must be happy. Everyone talks about the Jets, yes the Jets not the Giants these days.

The Jets just came off a great season, ending in a promising playoff run. The organization has found some of the spotlight it’s been missing in America’s largest TV market. The Jets will be highlighted in HBO’s popular series Hard Knocks. Rex slimmed down for the part, having elective surgery to assist him in losing weight. Mark Sanchez pops up on SNL with Tina Fey and Justin Bieber. That’s big time in the pop culture world.

Now Santonio Holmes brings his own version of the Judge Judy show to the Jets reality lineup. Braylon Edwards will be co-producing a few episodes this season.

In reality the Jets have become a media epicenter. Everyone seems to be enjoying the hype. Even when we start talking football, the Jets look like a competitive team coming into the season. They now have a corp of experienced receivers, a quarterback whose played an NFL season and a defensive back tandem with no equal.

Bruce Jenner – Rex Ryan
Two old guys, having fun with all the attention. Hey, who wants to look old or obese on television? Definitely neither one of these two dudes.

Kim Kardashian - Mark Sanchez

No slight to Mark because Kim is a woman. The Jacksons had Michael, the Kardashians have Kim and the Jets have you. You’re the one everybody wants to see, on all the magazine covers and on the hottest shows. Everybody believes without you, the family wouldn’t have anything.

Khloe Kardashian – Braylon Edwards
Tired of being in the shadows, both Khloe and Brandon have made big moves. Khloe got married– Brandon came to the big city. Marshall says happiness came with a trade to New York. Khloe says her shocker marriage wasn’t for show. We all simply wait to see how it will play out.

Lamar Odom – Ladainian Tomlinson
Because we can see why the deal looked attractive to LT. And yeah it will mean good money. And yeah its good for marketing. It’s just somehow you continue to wonder how long it can work.

Kourtney Kardashian – Santonio Holmes
They both deal with similar issues, since both live high profile lives as single parents. Holmes will bring a greater understanding to the role.
