Why I Hate JaMarcus Russell, Yet I Think He Deserves a Shot.

OAKLAND, CA - SEPTEMBER 14: JaMarcus Russell #2 of the Oakland Raiders passes the ball during their game against the San Diego Chargers on September 14, 2009 at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum in Oakland, California. (Photo by Ezra Shaw/Getty Images)

Russell is fat, lazy, and unproductive. But, with the threat of a 70 yard bomb, he would be a better QB choice than Gradkowski if....................That is the big if. They need to surround Russell first before we judge him.

My Ultimate Oakland Raiders mock draft looks like this:

1. Bruce Campbell- OT Maryland

2. Terrence Cody-NT Alabama

3A. Vladimir Ducasse- OL UMASS

3B. Darryl Washington- MLB TCU

4.  Syd'Quan Thompsom- CB Cal

5A. Jacoby Ford- KR/PR/WR Clemson

5B. Mike Pouncey-C Florida

7. Cody Slate FB/TE Marshall

The O-Line protecting JaMarcus or Brucey would be Campbell, Gallery, Pouncey/Satele, Ducasse, and Henderson. Above Average at least. Then we'd have 2 RBs if we let go of J-Fargas. A big mobile FB in Cody Slate, and TE Miller of course. Then Schilens, Murphy, and Higgins are only getting better, and Ford and DHB could set up the Raiders with better field position every time. We'd also have a SHUTDOWN 2007 NEW YORK GIANTS DEFENSE! With the 4-3 going Seymour, Cody, Kelly, Ellis the DL. The LBs would then be Scott, Washington, and Morrison, the new OLB. The DBs would be Asomugha and Johnson/Thompson with safeties Mike Huff and Tyvon Branch. We could stop the run and pass. All this surrounding the QB is like the 2008 Vikings, where today's great team had Tavaris Jackson and went 11-5 to the Divisional Round. Russell/Gradkowski/Whoever could be Tavaris Jackson. 11-5 and the division round IS ABSOLUTELY COOL WITH RAIDER NATION. 2010, here we come.

This is why Russell may save his ass and become a playoff QB.
