Jim Harbaugh: Next Oakland Raiders Head Coach?
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported this afternoon that the Oakland Raiders reached out to current Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh regarding their impending head coach vacancy. The Raiders spoke with Harbaugh while head coach Tom Cable is still currently employed by the organization.
Harbaugh, who is one of the hottest college coaches in America, reportedly spoke with Raiders brass, but "Harbaugh did not express interest in the job" according to Schefter.
Harbaugh is another name in a long line of coach candidates the Raiders have reached out to. So far, they have not found their guy or have been repeatedly rejected by desired coaches.

This news comes on the heels of news that the Raiders spoke with their former offensive coordinator and current Montreal Alouettes head coach Marc Trestman.
One of Schefter's sources claimed the Raiders spoke with current Las Vegas Locomotives (UFL) head coach Jim Fassel. The former Giants head coach denied the speculation.
"I'm not lobbying for the Raider job. I have never in my life rooted for a coach to be let go so there's an opening. I never have. I'm in the same fraternity," said Fassel.
Additionally, the Raiders will reportedly meet with current Baltimore Ravens quarterbacks coach Hue Jackson regarding their offensive coordinator opening.
The Raiders head coaching search goes on all while current head coach Tom Cable has not yet been told what his future will be. The expectation is that Cable will be fired when he next meets with owner Al Davis. However, that meeting has been repeatedly delayed. Cable went 9-19 since taking over for Lane Kiffin, including a 5-11 mark in 2009—his first full season on the job.
