Nnamdi Asomugha Will Stay As an Oakland Raider
Could the Raiders possibly allow a guy like Asomugha to be traded away this offseason? Every year there is speculation that a blockbuster trade could happen, but it is always speculation.
In 2004, the Broncos and Redskins pulled off a blockbuster trade. Champ Bailey and a second round pick was sent to Denver for Clinton Portis. At the time, Portis was in the league for only two years and had over 1500 yards rushing in both seasons and Bailey was arguably the top corner in the NFL.
Asomugha, who has been at the top of his game and the league for the past three years or so, is not only happy to be in Oakland but wants to make the Raiders a top team, so why would people want to trade him?

Asomugha has a lot of trade value and with the Raiders having only a couple bright spots, has plenty positions of need.
What could the Raiders get for a guy like Asomugha? Two first round picks? A franchise QB?
Should the Raiders trade Asomugha to San Francisco for their two first round picks? What about Donovan McNabb?
McNabb, who is going into the last year of his contract, would be an upgrade at the position, but the value is not there since Nnamdi is at the top of his game and McNabb isn't.
McNabb, 33, won't be the same in Oakland as he is in Philly. Brian Westbrook, DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Brent Celek, and a good offensive line is a lot better than a ball dropping Darrius Heyward-Bey, Chaz Schilens, Zach Miller, and Darren McFadden. Don't forget that McNabb will be running for his life in Oakland with an offensive line who has allowed 49 sacks this season.
What about to San Francisco for their No. 13 and No. 16? Oakland would have three first round picks, but is that worth giving up a guy who shuts down one side of the field?
With the way Al has drafted the past years, I don't think three first round picks would help. It would be a waste of over $60 million on three unproven rookies.
Asomugha is a proven, top of his game, CB and no rookie will be able to come close to the production Nnamdi has. Asomugha is one of not many players who has the desire to want to play for Al Davis and the Oakland Raiders. Nnamdi Asomugha is not going anywhere and all football watchers should expect to see him in silver and black until he retires.
