Liverpool Transfer News: Alexandre Lacazette, Naby Keita, Latest Reds Rumours

Liverpool will reportedly make major moves during the summer transfer window if the club can qualify for the UEFA Champions League, with Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette and Naby Keita of RB Leipzig headlining the list of targets. 

According to David Maddock of the Daily Mirror, the Reds will not be afraid to challenge the biggest clubs in Europe in the transfer market for the two stars.

Lacazette in particular would present a major target, with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp recently suggesting the club will take a look at their strikers during the summer. Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly also looking at the 25-year-old.

Lacazette has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time now, courtesy of his strong scoring numbers in Ligue 1. The France international has scored 21 or more goals in the league in each of the last three seasons.

Lacazette is often compared to compatriot and Gunners legend Thierry Henry for his ability to move all over the attacking third and his instincts in the box. He's an opportunistic finisher with excellent athletic ability, and his raw speed should make him a good fit for Liverpool's high-octane system.

According to Maddock, Champions League football will be a key factor in landing the forward, who is expected to leave Lyon during the summer. Arsenal and Spurs are on pace to qualify for the competition, and they also have the resources to match any offer the Reds make.

Keita is another target who will likely be wanted by some of the biggest clubs in Europe after a breakout season in the Bundesliga.

The 22-year-old has been key to Leipzig's sensational debut season in Germany's top division, leading to links with Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Everton and Atletico Madrid.

The Guinea international does most of his damage as a holding midfielder, where he uses his quickness and strength to push opponents off the ball and launch counter-attacks. While he's not the greatest distributor from a deep position, he is good at playing through balls around the box.

Keita also loves to make delayed runs forward and contribute to the attack, leading to four goals in the Bundesliga already. He's logged time as an attacking midfielder but is at his best further back.

Competition to land the midfielder will be fierce, but the Reds have one major advantage―Keita is represented by Sadio Mane's agent, and the Senegalese forward likely only has good things to say about his club.

Per Maddock, Liverpool could target five or six quality players in total, addressing the squad's lack of depth in the process. Daniel Sturridge is expected to leave the club if an appropriate offer arrives, which would create space to accommodate Lacazette.
