Raiders Need Crabtree Healthy Heading into Postseasonย
Crabtree has been dealing with thisย ankleย injuryย sinceย prior to the Week 12 game against theย Carolina Panthersย but was able to suit up.
The 29-year-old has proved to be a solid partner for Amari Cooper in Oakland. He was never a good fit in a feature role with the San Francisco 49ers. With Cooper attracting the attention of opposing secondaries, though, Crabtree is afforded more freedom.ย
The eight-year veteran has caught 60 passes for 711 yards and six touchdowns in 11 games this season.
Having already clinched their first winning season since 2002, the Raiders can ill afford to lose Crabtree as they begin looking ahead to the playoffs.
Behind Cooper and Crabtree, Oakland doesn't have much depth in the passing game. Seth Roberts and Andre Holmes are both inconsistent, and tight end Clive Walford has similarly struggled to establish himself in the offense.
If Crabtree is forced to the sidelines in the future, itย wouldn't single-handedly wreck Oakland's title chances, but it would make quarterback Derek Carr's life much harder.
