Braun Strowman Attack by Fan and Luke Harper's Injury Caught on Video

Mike ChiariMar 22, 2016

The dark match following Monday night's edition of WWE Raw in Philadelphia was an eventful one, as Wyatt Family members Braun Strowman and Luke Harper were involved in separate incidents.

As seen in this YouTube video, a fan appeared to strike Strowman at the one-minute, 20-second mark during a bout pitting the Wyatts against Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Sami Zayn and Dolph Ziggler:

Just seconds into the same video, Harper looked to suffer an injury while punching Reigns in the corner, as his knee buckled, and he rolled out of the ring in apparent pain and stayed there for the duration of the match.

With regard to Strowman, Monday's incident was far from the first time in recent months that a fan has posed a threat to the talent.

In August 2015, a fan threw a replica Money in the Bank briefcase in the ring during a house show and hit Reigns in the head.

That was followed by additional scary situations the following month, including a fan jumping the guardrail and getting dangerously close to Seth Rollins, as seen in this video, courtesy of Ron Cacace:

Also, this Instagram video shows a fan touching Ambrose before getting taken down by security staff:

Despite the likelihood of legal action being taken against those who attempt to involve themselves in the show by getting too close to the talent—or even assaulting them as seen in the Strowman video—the incidents continue to pile up.

As disconcerting as that is, Harper's injury is also a major blow to WWE due to his status as a workhorse and arguably one of the best big-man wrestlers in the business today.

Although he has taken a backseat behind Wyatt, especially with the family losing big matches on a consistent basis, his potential to be a top heel in WWE is evident.

None of the four Wyatt Family members—including Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan—are currently scheduled for a match at WrestleMania 32 in April, although entry into the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal is a strong possibility.

WWE has yet to provide an update regarding Harper's status, but if he is forced to miss any time due to injury, it will hurt the Wyatt Family both in terms of losing its best in-ring worker and one of its most ominous characters.

While WWE is lucky that Harper wasn't tabbed for a big WrestleMania match in one respect, he is an extremely valuable commodity on the main roster, and the Wyatt Family stands to lose some credibility should he end up on the injured list.
