The Bengals are a team that surprised a lot of people last season. They were really good the season before and were expected to at least be competitive.
That didn't happen.
Instead, they now have to deal with the loss of Chris Henry, and the whole Chad Johnson debacle.
They aren't exactly a law abiding team. Rumors are that they are going to just make the new uniform an orange jumpsuit with shackles.
Even their practice squad can't stay out of trouble, I mean, this is getting ridiculous.
They weren't nearly as good rushing the ball as they have been with Corey Dillon first and Rudy Johnson of late.
Their defense continued to be horrible and they will likely look there for their first pick.
But what are some other things that they could do?
Possible Draft Directions
They don't have a tight end. Right now Ben Utecht looks like the best option, and that is just scary. They could get Fred Davis in the second round.
They weren't exactly stellar on the defensive line last season. Chris Long, Vernon Gholston, and Glenn Dorsey will likely be off the board by now. They signed Antwan Odom this off-season and he had 8 sacks last season, but one lineman does not a line make.
They could take Sedrick Ellis, but he could possibly be off the board as well.
Continuing the defensive woes, the linebacker core hasn't exactly been strong. Dan Connor or Curtis Lofton could be second round solutions.
Finally, they need safety help. Thomas DeCoud or Marcuss Griffin are 3rd round possibilities.
Only one more to go, I gotta get it out tomorrow or Friday. So, the New Orleans Saints are on the clock. What are they going to do with thier pick on Draft Day? Stay tuned to find out.
