It’s essentially the Catalan flag as the kit.
Sport.es says that Nike and FC Barcelona have come to an agreement on having the Senyera (Catalan flag) stripes and colors on the away kit next season.
If it does happen, it would be the first time in FC Barcelona's history (1899) that the team has worn the Senyera as the main colors on one of their official kits. During former Barcelona club president Joan Laporta's era, a small Catalan flag was added to the back of all kits.
There are other teams in Spain that have worn the colors of the regions of Spain including Levante, Málaga and Athletic Bilbao. Valencia has famously worn the colors and strips of the Valencian Community for their away kits. Several teams also have a small flag on the back of their kits like Barcelona.
Take a look at what they will probably look like and let us know what you think of them.
Personally, I love the idea and I hope it comes to fruition. I know some people may not look very stylish. But this is completely about paying homage to the homeland.
For some football fans, it may not be something pretty to look at.
But for true Culés, it's a great tribute to whom FC Barcelona is and what the club represents, both in football history and Catalonia's history.
