With their second consecutive win, the Audi team made up of Andre Lotterer, Benoit Treluyer and Marcel Fassler stole the show at the 2012 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Always full of innovations, the Audi team won the race with new technology like energy-harvesting technology and four-wheel drive that had never won a Le Mans race. After the teamโs success, there is no question that the 80th running of the annual race could be its most impactful.
For as good as the Audi team was, the biggest surprise of the race was how well the Toyota's performed. With hardly any extensive testing, the Toyota's made a serious threat for the lead at several points during the race.
The combination of innovation from all the teams that entered the race and the pure excitement of some of the hardest driving you will ever see made this battle in France enjoyable to watch for as long as you could manage.
In a day full of exciting racing and enough accidents to make even the most hardcore NASCAR fan excited, the 24 Hours of Le Mans lived up to its billing and put on an amazing show.
