Andy Dodd Commits to 'Bama, and He's Ready to Change Fat Guy Touchdowns Forever
Alabama picked up its ninth verbal commitment for the 2013 class on Monday, as Georgia lineman Andy Dodd committed to The Tide according to 247sports.
Most recruiting shops have Dodd labeled at a 3-star prospect, although at 6’4” and 325 pounds Dodd obviously has a pretty mammoth frame to work with. On that note, I apologize to all undersized defensive linemen that will have the task of taking on Dodd next fall.
Although verbal commitments from 3-star linemen don’t typically catch major headlines, the FAT GUY TOUCHDOWN potential with this young man is absolutely off the charts. This isn’t a knock on him by any means; in fact, it’s the opposite. This is one of the highest compliments I can bestow on a college football player with mass amounts of mass.
Dodd can absolutely move for a man his size, and his junior highlight film even lists him as an offensive tackle/tight end prospect. When I saw this, my ears immediately perked up, and the opening plays did not disappoint.
Two, count ‘em, two FAT GUY TOUCHDOWNS to start off your highlight reel? It’s…it’s…beautiful.
Dodd follows up his catches by pancaking everything in sight, which is also wonderfully entertaining. Nick Saban, if Dodd does indeed sign his LOI when that day comes, I hope you take advantage of this large man with wheels and give college football fans what they want and deserve.
More of this.
