WWE Raw Rating Is In: Did Shawn Michaels and the Rock Add Viewers?

Justin WatryJun 7, 2018

Last night, WWE put on a very good show from Boston. The Raw audience was treated to a very memorable show, and fans are still buzzing about it.

For the television ratings, it is time to dive into the numbers for WWE this week.

As a reminder, last week drew a very disappointing 3.1 rating.

Sorry, but there is no way to spin that number into something positive.

This Monday night, WWE can continue to brainstorm ideas.

The first hour of Raw drew 4,646,000 million viewers.

The second hour of Raw drew 4,572,000 million viewers.

The official number for Raw was a 3.2 rating.

My Thoughts on This News

I am not sure what to make of the ratings here. WWE has been all over the board recently. They had some serious lows in the winter months.

The shows began to rebound in January (like they always do), but nothing is turning up now.

It is surprising that the Road to WrestleMania is not producing better results.

Shawn Michaels was advertised to appear. No doubt his segment with Triple H will produce a large number. However, I fear fans quickly tuned out afterwards.

The same can be said with The Rock and John Cena. Their promos always draw big. Nobody can deny that. The problem is keeping those viewers hooked onto the product.

Right now, that isn't happening.

Next week, we will see Undertaker confront Shawn Michaels on Raw.

Again, that will likely produce a huge quarter-hour, but what about the segment immediately after?

Or the next?

Or the next?

A Rock concert and Cena rap was also given a brief mention to close the show, but nothing was really hyped there.

It was just thrown out there at the end.

Disappointing.

As for SmackDown, they have bounced back after having a live Tuesday special the week prior.

Last Friday night, the "Blue Brand" drew a 2.01 rating with a little over 2.9 million viewers.

I would say I hope WWE has given up trying to do Tuesday shows for the "Blue Brand," but apparently another live special is set for next month.

Some people will never learn.
