Tony Romo has been one of the most scrutinized quarterbacks in recent history.  Every move on and off the field for Romo is analyzed and many times he is the butt of the joke and the center of controversy.

With that being said, Romo has played very well recently and will prove his critics wrong this week against the Washington Redskins.

Romo Has Help from the Running Game

With an injury to Felix Jones at the beginning of the year, the running game for Dallas seemed to be in a bind.

Enter DeMarco Murray.

Murray has been dominant and has taken advantage of his opportunity to start for the Cowboys the past few weeks.

With a reliable run threat, the Redskins will be forced to crowd the box opening up the passing game for Dez Bryant and Jason Witten to make plays.

Utilizing the run will make will open up the Cowboys offense lead them to a victory.

Laurent Robinson Has Stepped Up

Miles Austin has battled injuries all year.

For most offenses, losing an All-Pro wide receiver would be devastating.

Thankfully, Laurent Robinson has stepped up for the Dallas Cowboys.

Robinson has 441 yards and four touchdowns in Austin’s absence and has provided Romo with another deep threat.

Robinson has helped bolster the Cowboys passing game and has been a great help to Tony Romo.

Romo Is Taking Care of the Ball

Tony Romo has not had a multiple interception game since Week 4 against the Detroit Lions

Since then he has thrown two interceptions in the last five games.

The Redskins’ DeAngelo Hall preys on quarterbacks who make poor throws and can usually exploit their mistakes to create turnovers.

If Romo continues to play the way he’s been playing, he will not give Hall the opportunity for an interception.

The Defense Will Help Romo

The Redskins only average about 15 points a game and have had issues at the quarterback position between John Beck and Rex Grossman.

This is a defense that struggles to score points (the Cowboys beat them kicking six field goals in September) and the Cowboys feature DeMarcus Ware who has been abusing quarterbacks all year.

With the constant pressure on the quarterback, the Cowboys could force some turnovers and give Romo a few extra possessions.

The Cowboys have already beat the Redskins once this season.

In this game, Romo threw for 255 yards as the Cowboys kicked six field goals on the way to a victory.

He also played with a broken rib and punctured lung.

The Cowboys will not be counting on Romo to pull off a gutsy performance this time.

All Romo will need to do is hand the ball off to DeMarco Murray and get the ball to his play makers in the passing game.

If he can do that, it will be an easy win for Dallas.
