UFC 141: Brock Lesnar's 5 Greatest Moments
Brock Lesnar may very well be one of the most well-known names in the entire world, as he's participated in a variety of sports over the course of his professional career.
Moving from collegiate wrestling to pro wrestling to a short stint in the National Football League, Lesnar finally made the transition to mixed martial arts.
It was June 2, 2007, when Brock Lesnar entered the sport of mixed martial arts for the very first time.
While many failed to give Lesnar the benefit of the doubt, he's proven many critics wrong on his way to the top of the UFC heavyweight division.
While Lesnar endured some hardships along the way, he's also come across some of the greatest moments of his career.
The following slides display the five greatest moments of Brock Lesnar's career.
Let's take a look.
Signs with the UFC
1 of 5While Lesnar has always been considered one of the most recognized men on the planet, his popularity soared through the roof when he signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
It was October 2007 when Lesnar officially announced he would join forces with the UFC.
It was later determined that Lesnar's first official bout inside the Octagon would be against Frank Mir at UFC 81.
First UFC Win
2 of 5In his UFC debut, Lesnar was submitted by Frank Mir just one minute and 30 seconds into the first round.
Despite the loss, Lesnar was confirmed to square off with Heath Herring at UFC 87 just a few months down the road.
As many fans can recall, Lesnar bull-rushed Herring the second the two touched gloves. Lesnar was declared victorious via unanimous decision to capture the first win of his UFC career.
Becomes UFC Heavyweight Champion
3 of 5Following the first win of his UFC career, Lesnar found himself across the Octagon from one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time in Randy Couture.
Lesnar was an overwhelming underdog but once again proved his critics wrong.
In the second round of action, Lesnar had Couture pinned on the ground and began to pound away at him through elbows and strikes.
Then, with just under two minutes remaining in the round, Lesnar was declared the new UFC heavyweight champion by way of knockout.
Revenge on Frank Mir
4 of 5Brock Lesnar received more hype than nearly any athlete of all time when he entered the Octagon to take on Frank Mir in his UFC debut.
Unfortunately for Lesnar, he didn't live up to that hype, as he was submitted just a little over a minute into Round 1.
But Lesnar got his revenge on Mir when he met him in a championship bout at UFC 100 in Las Vegas, Nev.
While Mir escaped the first frame, the same couldn't be said for the second, as Lesnar left the Mandalay Bay Events Center with his first successful title defense.
Come-From-Behind Victory over Shane Carwin
5 of 5While Brock Lesnar has had many great moments up to this point of his mixed martial arts career, few are more memorable than his bout with Shane Carwin at UFC 116.
Carwin pounded away on Lesnar for the first five minutes, as many fans in attendance thought the fight was close to coming to an end.
But Lesnar escaped and entered Round 2, where he took control by taking Carwin to the ground.
Then at 2:19 of the second round, Lesnar connected on a spectacular arm-triangle choke, which eventually led him to victory and a historic comeback.
