Asante Samuel's Fantasy Football Comments on Eagles Right on the Money
Asante Samuel just unlocked the secret to professional sports.
The Philadelphia Eagles Pro Bowl corner back was pissed off the second news broke that both Nnamdi Asomugha and Dominque Roders-Cromartie were joining the team.
Now heโs unleashing his anger geared toward team president Joe Banner and GM Howie Roseman to the media: "Itโs a business and they run it like a business and theyโre going to do what they need to do. Theyโre playing with a lot of money, playing fantasy football, doing their thing."

When asked if he was talking specifically about Banner and Roseman, Samuel kept bringing the heat: "Howie and Joe? I donโt know, do they fit the comment I made? There ya go. You think theyโre upstairs playing fantasy football with the ownerโs money?"
Clearly he doesnโt want to have any part in the way Philly is doing businessโฆand rightfully so.
The Eagles are off to a massively disappointing 2-4 start despite the โdream teamโ tag placed upon them at the beginning of the season. The main reason why is that the chemistry and trust among the players simply isnโt there.
A championship team needs to be together for multiple seasons in order to build that trust and camaraderie among their core players.
Look no further than the Miami Heat in the NBA. The lack of trust cost them a championship in the first year of the "big three."
New DT Cullen Jenkins has openly questioned the lack of leadership in the locker room, Samuel has wondered how much control coach Andy Reid really has over his team.
Even in the secondary, with three Pro Bowlers patrolling, the communication issues have been extremely frequent.
The Eagles are still in the playoff hunt, but they're far from the Super Bowl contenders they were at the beginning of the season.
Picking players up in free agency like they are fantasy players is a horrible idea. Where is the blocking receiver or the coverage linebacker?
Clearly the team went for pure talent over team needs, and now itโs backfiring.
The 30-year-old Samuel has been around long enough to know as much.
