Well, with every day in Oakland's season, you get good news and bad news.

Lately, it seems more bad than good....but today we learned a few good tidbits to enjoy.

First of all, Darren McFadden has been cleared to play. It's been a while, since Oct. 19, that he's been able to...and hopefully should give the running corps some support.

On the other side of the coin, Andrew Walter's high ankle sprain still isn't getting any better. However, it sounds as if JaMarcus Russell's knee is improving, as he was able to take the majority of snaps in practice at the mid-week practice.

One part of his WR group will be missing. It sounds like Walker is done for the season, a failed experiment that cost Oakland a bit. Not expecting Oakland to retain him, his last game saw him make three catches, and 15 total for the season.

Not exactly Randy Moss numbers.

Also, Derrick Burgess practiced as well, but the side note, is he's missed five games. Without him, the sack numbers have been missed, but not totally gone. If he can get his speed back up, he could see light duty possibly Sunday against Miami.

And lastly, there may be a new idea on Kickoff Returns. Since Higgins has a track record of falling apart late in the season, as evidenced by last week's fumble on the first play, the rumor mill has newly signed Justin Miller, Cornerback, as possibly returning kicks.

Higgins has speed, but if you don't have the hands to make the plays....you're not doing your team any favors.

And if you try to impress your team by juking, jiving, and trying to cut back, only to lose 10-15 yards....just fall down with the ball, and don't lose the yardage.
