The deal will take the Texans out of the Nnamdi Asomugha sweepstakes, making it likely that the New York Jets nab the high-profile cornerback.
The 49ers are also in the running for Asomugha's services, but the Jets look to have a commanding lead now that the Texans are out of the picture.
Terms of the deal look to be five years for an undisclosed amount of money.
The Texans struggled in the secondary last year, finishing 6-10 despite having the league's best rusher in Arian Foster and a very explosive passing offense as well.
Wade Phillips has taken over as the defensive coordinator in Houston and looks to move the Texans to a 3-4 front.
This move is just another in a very hectic day for NFL GM's.
Today, stars like Chad Ochocinco, Albert Haynesworth and Reggie Bush were all on the move.
