Expectations of How Daniel Bryan Will Use the Smackdown Briefcase
OK, so article will be a pretty big stretch, to be perfectly honest. The most likely scenario here is pretty boring, so I'm going to go slightly into fantasy land for this prediction.
First off, I will say that I had zero hope for Daniel Bryan getting the briefcase at Money in the Bank. I'm thrilled that he did get it, but I think I might be even more reeled by that than Punk winning and leaving with the WWE title.
Most likely, Daniel Bryan, being the honorable type of guy he is, will choose a big PPV to cash in his belt as a known match. I'd suspect Survivor Series. Even though Summerslam is the one-year anniversary of his return, Christian and Randy Orton aren't done yet.
In his title match, I think he could be the first MITB winner to fail to win the title, much to the joy of Michael Cole and the chagrin of the entire IWC. That's the boring, more obvious suggestion though.
Here's what I'd love to see happen"
Tomorrow on Raw, CM Punk comes out to give a farewell promo (doubt even this part will happen, to be honest). Daniel Bryan comes out to interrupt and give the promo of his life.
Bryan talks about how the both came from Ring of Honor, WWE is everything that they had dreamed of, how things won't be better going somewhere else, that kind of thing.
Eventually it leads to Bryan coming out as a company guy and challenging Punk that night for the WWE Title using his briefcase. Sure, it's only supposed to be good for the World Heavyweight Title, but the brands hardly matter as it is, so why not?
Will Daniel Bryan be successful with his briefcase use?
Talk about a dream match right there.
This could easily be a five-star match in which Bryan wins the title after Punk passes out from being in the Labell Lock for so long.
Winner and very unexpected WWE champion: Daniel Bryan
I'm not sure that Daniel Bryan the overall superstar package deserves this yet, but I'd love to see him get the belt someday. Why not tomorrow?
Furthermore, Bryan takes the WWE title back to Smackdown, leaving Raw with no major title for some time. This would be fixed with another match or a trade at some point, but those are details to hash out if this actually happens, which is highly unlikely.
Not only does this match give the audience a great show, but Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis come out near the end or right after it ends with a contract. They force a pen into Punk's passed out body and he "signs" the contract.
Certainly in the real world, this is completely illegal, but this is WWE we're talking about. This match and Punk's passing out leads to him become McMahon's servant based on the conditions of this new contract. The storyline that continues from this point could be pretty incredible and include cameos from Colt Cabana and Luke Gallows.
Sure, this is a pretty far cry from what I expect, but I also didn't expect Daniel Bryan to have any shot at the briefcase, so who knows?

Also, read my thoughts about Alberto Del Rio's Raw briefcase tenure (which contradicts my scenario here).
