WWE WrestleMania 27: Snooki and 7 Other Celebrities We Need to See on the Show
With Jersey Shore cast member and pop culture sensation Snooki participating in a mixed six-person tag team match at WrestleMania 27 in only a matter of days, it has received many negative reviews among wrestling fans. Being against the critically acclaimed MTV show as it is, I of course am included within the majority.
But without a doubt, this is obviously a very smart business move by WWE. Although the rating for Snooki's appearance on RAW a few weeks ago didn't spike ratings, it certainly accumulated much media coverage from many major organizations, TMZ included.
As WWE gains more and more mainstream by the day, God knows how many buys this could bring in for WrestleMania. This had the wheels in my head turning: how much could WWE benefit from more celebrities being involved in the Show of Shows?
However, keep in mind, WrestleMania is given the name for a reason. I am solely behind the fact that Mania should not revolve around celebrity appearances, but some publicity wouldn't hurt.

The Jersey Shore
1 of 8Based on the title, it's not hard to infer that Snooki and her co-stars of one of the hottest shows on television would make the list. I'm not here to praise or bash the MTV series, but being the respectable writer that I am, I will leave it at that I dislike this show with a passion.
As previously noted, Snooki's involvement on RAW two weeks ago gained much-needed mainstream publicity going into WrestleMania. Shockingly enough, Snooki was even announced to compete on the Grandest Stage of Them All alongside John Morrison and Trish Stratus against Michelle McCool, Layla and Dolph Ziggler.
Hopefully, her wrestling capacity in the match isn't taken seriously and will only have thirty seconds maximum in the ring if at all. What I'm really anticipating is a scenario in which Lay-Cool would have Snooki cornered, forcing the entire cast of the Jersey Shore to involve themselves at ring-side to help their co-star score a quick pin over the former Women's Champion.
I can not begin to describe how much attention that would receive if it were to come to fruition. Don't be surprised if she is offered a Diva contract following Mania, or worse, offered a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame alongside less-worthy Drew Carey.
Kimbo Slice
2 of 8
Although he may not be considered a celebrity, he is indeed a well-known figure being an actor and former UFC Fighter. Kimbo Slice was known for his sheer size and pure dominance, despite the fact it didn't win him many matches.
It was being discussed not too long ago by wrestling insiders that there was a slight chance we might see the Goliath at WrestleMania 27. In what role you might ask? Undertaker's special enforcer.
No, I'm not joking.
Of course reading this, I doubted it with the simple fact that Undertaker doesn't need a special enforcer, especially at the Show of Shows. This was being rumored around the same time that Brock Lesnar was still a possibility for competing against the Deadman, and those rumors were shot down due to Lesnar's contract obligations with the UFC.
A future match at Mania would interest this viewer.
Ted Turner
3 of 8
Much similar to Slice, it depends what you consider a celebrity to put multi-millionaire Ted Turner in that category. His fame should not go noticed, since for those that do not know, Turner was the owner of WWF '90s arch-nemesis, World Championship Wrestling.
After being bought out by the business mastermind known as Vince McMahon in 2001, Ted Turner has yet to be ever seen let alone mentioned on pro wrestling television since. His drop of interest in WCW was probably the reason for that, seeing he wasn't brought in the "Rise and Fall of WCW" DVD release two years ago.
However, being the 10 year anniversary of WCW's fateful death, wouldn't it be historical to bring back Ted Turner to Atlanta even if it were only for one night? What if he was revealed as the anonymous RAW General Manager?
Snoop Dogg
4 of 8
Snoop Dogg made his first WrestleMania appearance back in 2008 at Mania 24, where he came in an altercation with Santino Marella over Maria. However, that would not be the last we would see of the popular artist, as he hosted Monday Night RAW in late 2009 and brawling with Chavo Guerrero.
His name has been mentioned more recently on WWE television due to NXT Season 4 Rookie Brodus Clay being the former bodyguard of the rapper. Snoop went even as far as to tweeting his followers on Twitter to vote for Clay during the competition.
Snoop's status for WrestleMania 27 has been confirmed, as he will present at the event. I'm highly anticipating any interaction between Dogg and Clay, since it could possibly play a role in the outcome of the World Championship match.
Time will tell.
LeBron James
5 of 8Following LeBron James' highly publicized signing with the Miami Heat last summer, you know Miz fans from Ohio must not have been happy. His historical signing had me pondering of it being a wrestling angle, with a huge mix of suspense, drama and anger.
The event has been mentioned on WWE television a handful of times late last year, with one of the men being Ohio native, WWE Champion The Miz. After bashing James, I wouldn't be surprised if WWE pulled a WCW-like tactic and called up the popular basketball star.
With the vigorous basketball training season, however, they would probably not be able to cross paths at the Show of Shows anytime soon.
Seth Rogen
6 of 8
According to a poll composed by Matt O'Brien of wrestleview.com in February, wrestling fans voted Seth Rogen, with sixteen percent of the poll and 481 votes, as a major celebrity they would like to see at WrestleMania 27. Although he has no past history with the company, his humor and popularity as an actor could make for a nice addition to the Show of Shows.
Cedric the Entertainer hosted RAW despite his lack of wrestling knowledge in September 2009, along with other actors advertising their upcoming movie. I could see numerous funny segments with Rogen and Santino, Goldust, and other comic relief characters in WWE.
Don't count the possibility of Roger possibly attending a WrestleMania as a spectator in the near future.
Shaq
7 of 8Of every person to guest host Monday Night RAW in the last two years, I would highly anticipate a follow-up return from big Shaq.
Shaq can be rightfully named one of the first guest hosts while the concept was still fresh and new, appearing in late July 2009. During his appearance, the seven-foot basketball player encountered the World's Largest Athlete, Big Show, at the end of the broadcast.
With some help from Cryme Tyme, Shaq was able to dispose of Show easily out of the squared circle, a segment that would be replayed numerous times over the course of the week due to high publicity. ESPN covered the segment, which obviously had the wheels turning inside of WWE officials' heads.
A return feud with Shaq against Big Show was discussed for WrestleMania 26, however, his basketball training avoided any kind of follow-up. With Show's new funny face character he now currently plays, I'm not sure how big of chance there is of a future rivalry between the two giants.
Let's hope WWE can take advantage of Shaq's mainstream and snag him in for one more appearance at a future WrestleMania.
Bob Barker
8 of 8For my final slide, I have chosen none other than the former Price is Right show host, Bob Barker. The critically acclaimed celebrity first appeared for WWE in on the Labor Day edition of Monday Night RAW, hosting his own WWE version of the Price is Right at the start of the show.
Barker's hosting went over very well with everyone, from the fans to officials in the back. He even went on to win the 2009 Slammy Award for Guest Host of the Year.
Although he is no Rock, Barker would make a perfect for any future WrestleMania. He is currently slated to induct Drew Carey into the WWE Hall of Fame the night before WrestleMania 27.
Is there any hope we could see at least one more of Barker's karate chops on Chavo Guerrero?
Remember, make sure to leave your criticism and thoughts below, also including anyone you think could potentially be added to the list. Enjoy what is left of the WrestleMania season, Bleachers! GSM out.
