WWE Superstar and Former TNA Champ NOT Returning: Shawn Daivari Spoils Rumors!

Stephen LyonMar 27, 2011

According to WrestleZone.com, the rumors regarding Shawn Daivari, that have been posted here on BleacherReport.com and many sports news and wrestling news websites, are unfounded and untrue.

WrestleZone.com is reporting that they spoke with the former Sheik Abdul Bashir and he has put the kibosh on all rumors regarding him re-signing with TNAWrestling, the company he left 2009. He told them that he is still a free agent and accepting independent bookings.

Stephen's Thoughts:

The Internet Wrestling Community (IWC) of which I am a proud member, is very important to the wrestling business. However, this is one of the major flaws that the IWC has; unless verified, we shouldn't be reporting rumors as facts, which multiple sites have done today, and on quite a few other occasions. This is the bad part of the online community which makes us legitimate fans and reporters have a stigma surrounding ourselves.

As to Daivari returning, it would have been a shot in the arm for the X-Division. Honestly, I'm not a fan of his in-ring work, or his microphone work for that matter. However, he is brilliant at instantly bringing boos and hate as a true heel, which is something TNAWrestling needs desperately. I do hope he signs somewhere soon–he needs a bigger market than just Ring Of Honor and the indies. If he's not grabbed by Dixie Carter and Hulk Hogan, I hope Vince McMahon makes a move and grabs him back for World Wrestling Entertainment.
