Dani Alves Renews Contract with FC Barcelona Until 2015

Roberto Alvarez-GallosoMar 22, 2011

Dani Alves has agreed to extend his contract with FC Barcelona until the year 2015. The original contract between Alves and FC Barcelona was set to expire after the 2011-2012 La Liga Season.

Before the contract renewal with Barca, Chelsea and Manchester City expressed an interest in the Brazilian.

While negotiations between Alves and FC Barcelona have been ongoing since the beginning of 2011, the results and fine points will be mentioned at a press conference this Wednesday at the FC Barcelona grounds.

It appears that Pep Guardiola did not want Alves to leave and considers him an integral part of Barca. I also agree with the renewal of the contract for Alves.

The saying of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" applies to Alves and FC Barcelona. While he has played for Bahia and Sevilla, his biggest opportunities came afte 2008 when he signed with FC Barcelona.

Alves is the recipient of the Copa Del Rey, La Liga, UEFA Champions League, Euro Super Cup, and Spanish Super Cup for FC Barcelona.

Behind all of the awards and participation with FC Barcelona, Dani Alves is one of the few athletes with a down to earth personality.

Alves has been present for his team and for his supporters during most of the matches played by FC Barcelona.

It is expected that there will be more from him until 2015.
