CF Atlas Guadalajara-Puebla: Atlas Gets First Win in Controversial Game
Atlas defeated Puebla in a Mexican League season game, which ended in controversy. The goal was scored by Alfredo Moreno, who celebrated with the euphoria of having won a World Cup.
Moreno scored the only goal as a result of a corner kick, in which his head deflected the ball to the left center of the goal net.
This occurred within 13 minutes of the game.

The score resulted in a first-time victory for Atlas—already in the bottom of the Mexican League group two.
Atlas was facing problems during the period with Carlos Ischia, who was replaced by Jose Luis Mata. In spite of the change in guard, the play did not feel victorious.
At one point during the game, the supporters of Atlas were whistling and screaming insults at the players for not doing enough.
While Atlas was struggling with its game, Puebla was also struggling since it is also at the bottom of the league groups.
Nicolas Olivero of Puebla said that the game was "unfair," and that the opposing team just simply played to defend the only goal of Alfredo Moreno to avoid losing face.
He also stated that the referee was biased in favor of Atlas, and that this was not football. Olivero, regardless, was willing to recognize that Puebla has a long way to go, and that it faces the same problems as Atlas.
The game itself was nothing more than an attempt of both teams to save face and to please a fanbase that has lost patience.
The fans themselves should share the blame since in sporting events, there are winners and losers.
