Poor NFL Network.
When it’s all said and done, there are only going to be TWO of EIGHT games worth a damn that the NFL Network is broadcasting: Dallas/Green Bay and New England/Giants, and even that game might not mean anything except a Pats perfect season.
I give you this Thursday and Saturday night’s games as evidence. I can honestly say I don’t think I’ll watch more than 10 minutes combined of both games. I dare ANY MAN or WOMAN out there to do more.
Nice way to get big cable to cave in and carry your network. You’d think that the NFL Network would be able to flex games. Unless they can, forget about Time Warner or Comcast EVER carrying the network. This further goes to show the watering down of this once great league that now has a problem marketing 3/4 of its teams.
Is Bobby Petrino a sorry son of a bitch or what? Couldn't he have least finished out the season like a professional? QUITTER.
Of course it goes without saying that the following picks AGAINST THE SPREAD are for RECREATIONAL USE ONLY. Only Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Kiefer Sutherland, Bennett Salvatore, ALL college presidents and BCS conference commissioners, Roger Goodell, and Travis Henry's nine kids and nine mommas would be drunk enough to question the Esteemed Liver's picks.
Last week against the spread: 8-8
2007 record against the spread: 94-104-10

Denver at Houston (PK)
Denver has been one of the more disappointing teams in the AFC with Jay Cutler further proving my “Duh” face theory along with Eli Manning, while Houston has not been able to take care of Matt Schaub. Think David Carr is sitting in Carolina saying, “I told you they had no offensive line?” Is there another QB (Matt Schaub) you can say ruined two NFL franchises in the same year? Atlanta trades him before the dogs get to Vick and then he turns out to have more glass parts on his body than Chris “Chandelier” Chandler. Yet another former Falcons QB? Make that another whiskey.
Pick: Denver

Cincinnati at San Francisco (+8 1/2)
Hard to believe that Marvin Lewis could be on his way out after bringing the Bengals back to respectability. Then again, after the Bengals police blotter and the teams’ outright refusal or inability to play defense, maybe it’s not so strange. As for the 49ers, you’ve cost me enough money this year and because of your refusal to win, you might be handing the Patriots a Top Five pick. Makes you want to throw up. Kind of like this game. Alex Smith’s season is over and mercifully so. Makes you wonder just how important Norv “McFly” Turner was to him. Both teams had playoff expectations this year and both were HUGE disappointments. What the hell, let’s get exotic tonight; give me a Tequila Sunrise.
Pick: Cincinnati

you can't flex games on a thursday. it's the same reason you can't flex games on a monday. some stadiums are used for other events besides football etc..
actually would you watch as much football if you werne't betting on the games? :)
i have NFL Sunday Ticket and i watch as much of every game as possible, at least the ones i have $$ on.

I'm with you on that. I know that it's impossible to flex games other than SUndays but I think the NFL Network needs to have a similar type option..either that or wait until two weeks before and then announce which game you will air...personally I'm not much one for football on Thursday and Saturday...there is such a thing as overkill...Saturdays are college, Sundays and Mondays are pros....that should be that...Thursday and Saturday games reek of the NFL trying to get more money out of people..........but seriously even some of the ones you do have money on are unwatchable...the product is starting to suffer from all this free agency and salary crap....
