Writing An Open Letter To Vince McMahon: Thank You

Kevin Germany@@KevinUber1Analyst IIISeptember 19, 2010

On this website, a lot of articles bash the WWE. Now, I intend to not join that group. I'm not too thrilled with some things in WWE.  But nothing is ever perfect.  Without further ado, here's my sappy thank you article.

Dear Vince,

Of course, there is no chance in hell you ever read this.

As you know, times have really been changing in the WWE.  Just this year alone, Shawn Michaels and Batista hung up the boots.  HHH has also been injured most of this year.

Also, recently you have endured the deaths of Test, Eddie Guerrero, and Chris Benoit along with many others; and departures such as Kurt Angle and Jeff Hardy.

In spite of all of this, you have persevered and created a new era. This new era is perfect for the kid-friendly and politically correct approach you are doing right now.

All I can say is thank you.  Thank you for making Pro Wrestling a mainstream industry.  Thank you for thinking big years ago, having Wrestlemania in football stadiums and buying up all the minor promotions.

More importantly, thank you for providing rehab to wrestlers who need it, even if they don't work for you (e.g. Scott Hall).

While I have a few grievances I have already aired out, I now take this time to appreciate the product.

First off, I want to say thank you for making WWE a watchable product for all ages.

Before the PG Era, kids shouldn't see the inappropriate things such as Edge and Lita in bed, the Attitude Era, and the excessive blood and chair shots to the head.

For me personally, I grew up watching WCW because I wasn't allowed to watch the Attitude Era.  Now, you have made the smart business decision of making it PG.

You can now expand globally because of your new approach. You can also draw many little children whose parents will now be OK with them watching WWE.

Now, if you follow my guidelines for the company to improve, you can draw in a lot of the older audience that has stopped watching due to the PG Era.

Secondly, thank you for bringing back Bret Hart.  Thanks for taking a bump physically for him to smack you with a chair 17 times.  Thanks for paying him the necessary cash to get him to come back.

Thirdly, I want to thank you for all the new wrestlers you have pushed.

While I would prefer a push not end abruptly (Evan Bourne, Jack Swagger) thanks for at least pushing new faces into the main event.

The Nexus has been the hottest story line of the summer.  Guess what, they're all rookies.

This influx of new talent compensates for the departures and shakes things up.

Fourthly, thank you for entertaining us all these years.  Whether it was the 80's, the 90's, or now, WWE has always been around.

In the 80's, Hulk Hogan led the Golden Age of wrestling.  You allowed him to do so.

In the early to mid 90's, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, and others reigned supreme over WWF.  Not bad choices at all.

In the late 90's, it was all about the Rock and Stone Cold. Thanks for making this happen.  The Great One and the Rattlesnake saved your company.  They fit the Attitude Era perfectly.

During the Ruthless Aggression phase, thanks for pushing Edge, Christian, and the Hardys via the ladder match.

Now, it's John Cena's turn to run the PG Era.  While I don't think he is nowhere near as good as the Rock, Stone Cold, or Bret Hart, he's perfect for the PG era.

In the future, it seems that the Age of Orton will dawn upon us as the face of the company.  This is also a wise decision as Orton gets cheered the loudest and isn't likely to leave anytime soon.

Lastly, thank you for rewarding Kane for all his years of service.

Thanks for making him from a jobber to the World Heavyweight Champion to the top heel on SD right now.

His rivalry with the Undertaker should make for some must see TV.

While people complain that the brother vs. brother angle is stale, it is ALWAYS entertaining.

In reality, I know it's all about the money for you.  Money is what makes the world go around.  I can't hold that against you.

That's why you made the PG Era.  That's why your wife can run for office with her own money.  That's why you continue to push John Cena down our throats just because the kids like him.

I get it. I really do.

Now a lot of the IWC (including me) will always find something to complain about, but you truly try to make a good show.

Just one thing: please reveal the GM as HHH already.  We all know he's the guy.

Actually just another: please just let Matt Hardy join TNA. He'd be so much better off there.

Oh wait: please bring back the Attitude Era and hire Rock and Stone Cold to run things.

But all in all, thank you so much for WWE.
