Kevin Harvick Inc. a Better Alternative for Bob Parsons' GoDaddy.com

Horn FanApr 18, 2010

I have read a couple of articles on here and saw a few racing sites fueling the rumor about Junior Motorsports coming to Cup.

But what if there is a better alternative for Bob Parsons' GoDaddy.com and Danica Patrick and one that could give them more bang for their buck?

One that has been able to bring new sponsors to NASCAR, even with a tough economy, has all the pieces to have a very competitive chassis department, and is aĀ championship winning organization thatĀ may have a major sponsor in its co-owner's pocket.

Just who is it?

Why, Kevin Harvick Inc. is co-owned by Kevin and Delana Harvick.

KHI was started back in 2001 with one truck built in Ed Berrier's garage as a hobby for Harvick to run a handful of races each season in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. It was Tony Stewart who talked them into fielding a car for him in the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2004 and the rest is history.

In just seven full-time years with two part-time years added in already they are a championship winning organization.

The reason for all their success is simple. It's the combination of Delana and Kevin that makes it work so well. She brings the knowledge, he brings the passion, and it just fits together perfectly like a puzzle.

TheyĀ seem to run the team like it's a familyĀ and justĀ have the knack for finding employees that fit into that mold.

They are hardworking, dedicated, and share the same goalsĀ for success that the Harvicks believe in.

Much of the success is built on what Ron Hornaday Jr. has achieved in the Truck Series, but it's also spilled over into the Nationwide with the team inching closer with the boss to challenge for the championship this season.

KHI may also have an ace in its pocket if it's true that wherever Harvick decides to go driving-wise in 2011 his Cup sponsor Pennzoil-Shell will follow.

It basically would mean that KHI could be a two-car operation, fieldingĀ Danica with GoDaddy.com in one car and Harvick in a second with Pennzoil-Shell.

Unlike JRM, KHI doesn't have any driver changes or sponsor issues that seem to be plaguing the latter.

With the Kasey Kahne signing to Hendrick Motorsports for 2011 and Richard Childress Racing having rookie Austin Dillon in the Truck Series, who's to say that Mark Martin doesn't move onto RCR in 2011 and takes over the No. 29 with GoDaddy.com as its sponsor? Makes sense, right?

It's win-win for everyone.

Since Martin doesn't want to retire yet, RCR needs to find a replacement for Harvick.

It would mean that Martin could take his time retiring, while it enables Dillon, who would be the eventual heir to the No. 29, to develop slower and not faster.

ThenĀ KHI would align with RCR. There would be no hard feelings between Harvick and Childress since both knew it was only a matter of time before he made this move to bringĀ their baby to Cup and Richard would be proud of how much he's taught Harvick.

So while both Sandra and David may see JRM as the way to go for both Parsons' and Danica to move to Cup, for me it's a no brainer that KHI is the real way to go.

Of course we can speculate all day on JRM or KHI, butĀ realisticallyĀ only Danica can answer that.

I just want to know when she is going to ask for her release from Andretti Motorsports, since the only way she'll get to Cup is to be racing every weekend and not just part-time.

Author's note:Ā Of course this piece is 100 percent speculation on my part; nothing comes from the inside or rumors and blame DW's chalkboard for this one.

The only real source used are a few lines that I recycled or changed from a previous articleĀ I wrote on Kevin and Delana.
