Indianapolis Colts: Super Bowl Deja Vu
The Indianapolis Colts are headed back to Miami, again, to play in the Super Bowl.
A feisty Jets team proved once again that they were better than most people thought they were, and put up a great fight. The Jets defense gave the Colts offense some trouble in the early first half, but the Colts were able to rally and get the win.
Peyton Manning again proved why he is the best quarterback in the game, and directed an aerial assault on the No. 1 ranked defense in the NFL. The usual targets weren't making the huge plays early, but Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark were able to make the catches they needed to keep the chains moving.

The real story for the Colts offense was the continued emergence of Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie. Garcon is coming off of an emotional week in which he learned his family members in Haiti were all accounted for safely. Collie got the Colts two huge plays at the end of the first half to trim the Jets' lead to just four.
Garcon ended up with a game-high 11 catches for 151 yards and a touchdown. Joseph Addai made some very good moves on the ground, as the Colts were able to rush for over 100 yards against the Jets, which is more than New York could produce.
The defense had a couple of breakdowns in the first half, including an 80-yard play action touchdown pass to Braylon Edwards. After the Jets settled into a Wildcat formation, a long pass play from Brad Smith also provided the Jets with another scoring opportunity. Besides those two big plays, the Colts defense played solid defense, shutting out the Jets in the second half. They also got a little help as Jay Feeley missed a pair of field goals.
Manning's 377 yards and three touchdowns were instrumental in the Colts AFC Championship victory today. He will need a similar effort in Miami if he wants to win his second Super Bowl trophy. Against Drew Brees, the Colts defense will need to be on their heels, and the offense must put up points.
Another trip to the Super Bowl in Miami for the Colts. Dallas Clark still won't play in his first Pro-Bowl game, but that's alright with us here in Indy.
