Jets Shock The Chargers!
Rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez is living his dream. Most 1st year quarterbacks don't even get to start, some don't even have a winning record. But Mark Sanchez of the New York Jets brought his team to the play-offs first of all and now to the conference finals. After beating the Cincinnati Bengals a week ago with a record of 10-6. Yesterday He beat the highly rated chargers with a record of 13-3. Coming in to this game the Jets were definitely the underdogs. Even though they have one of the best defenses in the league there is no reason for the second best offense to lose to the jets with no offense. The New York Jets now face the Indianapolis Colts with a record of 14-2. Very few people would imagine that, that would be the match-up of the AFC conference finals. Philip Rivers went 27-40 298 yds 1 TD and 2 INT. While, Mark Sanchez 12-23 100 yds 1 TD and 1 INT. Also Nate Kaeding Missed 3 Field Goals (36,40,and 57 yard field goals). The touchdowns in this game were a A Pass from Philip Rivers to Kris Wilson 13 yd pass. Jay Feely 46 yd Field Goal. A pass from Sanchez to Dustin Keller. A Shonn Greene 53 yd run. And a 1yd TD run from Philip Rivers. As the turning point of this game chargers Nate Kaeding Missed a 40-yd field goal with San Diego down 17-7 with 4:38 The chargers did score a touchdown with 2:14 left but could not recover the onside kick. Although the Jets got lucky there are many positives to take away from this game. The chargers made the playoffs with an 8-8 record last season they finished this year with a record of 13-3. That is a vast improvement from last season. All the chargers fans including me are eagerly looking forward to next season.
