NFL All Pro Team Predictions By: Murs For President
QB; Peyton Manning: Indianapolis Colts
Fairly obvious choice here. He is towards the top of every passing category and led his team to the most wins.
Honorable Mentions: Drew Brees, Phillip Rivers, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Schaub
HB; Chris Johnson: Tennessee Titans

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap šø
Easiest Offensive choice. He had an amazing season despite an O-Line that did not play like they would have blocked for a 1,500 yard rusher, let alone 2,000. Oh yeah, he also had the receiving stats of a #2 WR.
Honorable Mentions: Steven Jackson, Maurice Jones-Drew, Ray Rice
FB; Leonard Weaver: Philadelphia Eagles
I hate the type of FB Weaver is.. Basically a HB that can block a bit. I couldn't really find anyone better though. He is a do it all and a great offensive weapon.
Honorable Mentions: Ovie Mughelli, Lousaka Polite, Le'Ron McClain
WR1; Andre Johnson: Houston Texans
He is a monster WR. Big, fast, great route running, great hands. In addition to that, he put up insane numbers again. He's near the top of every major receiving category.
WR2; Wes Welker: New England Patriots
2nd in receiving yards, 1st in receptions, 2nd receiving 1st downs, #1 among receivers in %passes caught. Claim it is all screens and easy routes...I'll direct you to the yards.
Honorable Mentions: Miles Austin, Larry Fitzgerald, Randy Moss
TE; Jason Witten: Dallas Cowboys
A week ago I had this spot for Tony Gonzalez..Playing a much worse team Gonzo did nothing and Witten did a nice job doing what TE's do. Torch the Eagles. He's also a very good blocker(NO, not the best blocking TE in the NFL) and that is the sole reason he is here over Dallas Clark. Every Cowboys game I've seen, he's been the most impressive player.
Honorable Mentions: Tony Gonzalez, Dallas Clark
LT; Joe Thomas: Cleveland Browns
No doubt to me Thomas has established himself as the premier LT in the NFL. He is still a few steps behind the elite tackles of the 00's (Ogden/Pace/Jones) but he is the closest thing to elite the NFL has. In addition to very good pass blocking, Thomas is a solid run blocker which is a rarity among pass blocking LT's.
Honorable Mentions: Michael Roos, Marcus McNeil, D'Brickashaw Ferguson
LG; Steve Hutchinson: Minnesota Vikings
Fallen off a bit but with Robert Gallery going down with injury I didn't see a single LG who played better than Hutch did. He can dig out any DT in the NFL one on one and can block them in the passing game just as well.
Honorable Mentions: Logan Mankins, Carl Nicks, Kyle Koiser
OC; Nick Mangold: New York Jets
I have yet to see a better run blocking center who was capable of leading a line as well. Some teams like small, quicker centers who are leaders. Jets clearly don't but unlike most centers who are great blockers Mangold is also a great center.
Honorable Mentions: Jeff Saturday, Alex Mack, Todd McClure
RG; Bobbie Williams: Cincinnati Bengals
I have to thank BlaqOptic for this one. I thought he was crazy for having him on his top 50 players in the NFL list last year. Well every chance I got to watch the Bengals I watched Williams and... Damn. He is one of the best players in the NFL. He is a monster run blocker. He is quick off the ball but biggest of all he is strong off the ball. I can't think of a single run up the middle to the right I saw where Williams didn't knock his guy back.
Honorable Mentions: Deuce Lutui, Chris Snee, Jahari Evans
RT; Sebastian Vollmer: New England Patriots
Am I seriously going to put someone who only played significant time in 9 games on your All-Pro list? Yes. I love Vollmer. He has been insane when he played. He has gone 1 on 1 with Vanden Bosch, Freeney, Porter and several other skilled pass rushers and completely shut them down. I don't mean shutting down like he only got beat twice like shutting down usually means. I mean shutting down like... Nothing.
Honorable Mentions: David Stewart, Phil Loadholt
4-3 Defense
RDE; Trent Cole: Philadelphia Eagles
Cole really proved to be the best all-around RDE IMO. He can play the run fairly well but considering his pass rush skills, he is an excellent run stopper. He makes the entire line who they are.
Honorable Mentions: Dwight Freeney, Jared Allen, Will Smith
NT; Pat Williams: Minnesota Vikings
How is this guy still so good? He is a wall in the middle. It's arguable that the rest of the line helps him out a bit, but I don't care. He is a force who doesn't get pushed back and he still gets a bit of a pass rush. The only downside to Pat is his lack of PT, but that is bound to happen at 37 years of age.
Honorable Mentions: Terrance Knighton, Albert Haynesworth
UT; Jonathan Babineaux: Atlanta Falcons
Babs is an insane 1 gap DT. He is quick off the ball and gets in the backfield a lot. Since people will go right towards Kevin Williams for this position: Babs: 47 Tackles, 10 TFL, 6 Sacks, 2 FF K-Will: 30 Tackles, 4 TFL, 6 Sacks, 1 FF
Honorable Mention: Kevin Williams
LDE; Justin Tuck: New York Football Giants
Never realized the lack of talent in the NFL at 4-3 LE. Not a shot at Tuck, more a shot at the amount of choices I had. Tuck had a down year rushing the passer, but did still have a solid impact in the passing game batting down 8 balls. He was also very solid against the run.
Honorable Mentions: Robert Mathis, Patrick Kerney
WLB; Mike Peterson: Atlanta Falcons
Peterson had a huge season on a solid run D. He was a force against the run and very solid in coverage. He also has the stats to back up the play.
Honorable Mentions: Lance Briggs, Keith Rivers, Keith Bullock
MLB; London Fletcher: Washington Redskins
Fairly obvious choice. He is a monster stopping the run. He is a tackling machience. He is amazing at coverage. He also got snubbed for his 10th Pro-Bowl in a row. Good work voters.
Honorable Mentions: Jon Beason, Curtis Lofton, Kirk Morrison
SLB; Brian Cushing: Houston Texans
Cushing has been a complete monster all around this season. The resurgence of the Texans D can be credited largely to him. He made plays in both aspects of the game.
Honorable Mentions: Chad Greenway, Brian Orakpo
3-4 Defense
RDE; Calais Campbell: Arizona Cardinals
I've been a huge fan of Campbell since he was drafted and thankfully the Cardinals switched to a predominantly 3-4 D to get him and Dockett on the field. Calais did not disappoint. He is stout against the run and above all a huge threat against the pass.
Honorable Mentions: Randy Starks, Justin Smith, Cullen Jenkins
NT; Haloti Ngata: Baltimore Ravens
Ok, so Ngata didn't only play NT. Kelly Gregg was there too. Ngata was amazing no matter where he was. NT, LDE, RDE, even 3 technique DT in a four man front. I give him the nod of All-Proness at NT because it is where he is best and he did play a significant amount of time at that position.
Honorable Mentions: Jay Ratliff, Kelly Gregg, Casey Hampton
LDE; Darnell Dockett: Arizona Cardinals
Dockett was amazing. He drew a ton of double teams on runs and passes but still made plays. It's impossible to describe just how dominant Dockett is. You have to see him for yourself. I would like to point out a major flaw in my position specific choices, Johnny Jolly is the 2nd best 3-4 DE in the NFL but plays the same spot as Dockett so is doomed to be an honorable mention.
Honorable Mention: Johnny Jolly
WLB; DeMarcus Ware: Dallas Cowboys
Not much explaining needed here. He brings a great pass rush, good run stopping and adequate cover skills. Ware and Ratliff are huge reasons the Cowboys had one of the top defenses in the league.
Honorable Mentions: James Harrison, Elvis Dumervil, Clay Matthews Jr.
WILB; Nick Barnett: Green Bay Packers
Barnett is a great LB who transitioned to the 3-4 defense like a fish in water. He can take on blocks, make every tackle inside the box and even blitz a bit.
Honorable Mentions: Lawrence Timmons, Karlos Dansby
SILB; Patrick Willis: San Francisco 49ers
Willis is nothing short of a monster. He has to be the best run stopping LB in the NFL. He hits hard too. He's also solid in coverage and a good leader. Willis led the league in tackles..To no one's surprise.
Honorable Mentions: Ray Lewis, D.J. Williams, David Harris
SLB; LaMarr Woodley: Pittsburgh Steelers
Guns don't kill people, LaMarr Woodley kills people. In all seriousness, Woodley was a monster. He brought tons of pressure against the pass, did fairly well in coverage whether in zone; on a TE or on a back. He also did not allow teams to run to the outside, doing a nice job of keeping contain on most plays.
Honorable Mentions: Jason Taylor, Calvin Pace
CB1; Darrelle Revis: New York Jets
Easiest pick in the whole thing.
CB2; Nnamdi Asomugha: Oakland Raiders
A bit of a down year out of Nnamdi but he was still the bright spot on an otherwise bad team.
Honorable Mentions: Charles Woodson, Brandon Flowers, Champ Bailey
FS; Darren Sharper: New Orleans Saints
I hate Sharper. He is amazing in zone coverage and you don't throw it anywhere near his zone. He deserves a lot of credit for helping the New Orleans defense finally... Not suck.
Honorable Mentions: Kerry Rhodes, Nick Collins, Jairus Byrd
SS; Adrian Wilson: Arizona Cardinals
Wilson impresses with new talents every season. He is in the top of the safety pile playing man, in the box, blitzing or playing zone. A-Dub is again the best all-around DB in the league and with Polamalu out I should hear less arguments this time.
Honorable Mentions: Yeremiah Bell, Brian Dawkins
K; Nate Kaeding: San Diego Chargers
Tied for most FG made with a very good 91% success rate.
Honorable Mention: Rob Bironas
P; Ben Graham: Arizona Cardinals
The Aussie Rules Football Player gives the ball a spin that is insane. Thanks to the spin and awesome coverage man LaRod Stephens-Howling he finished one short of setting the record for most punts inside the 20 yard line. Even more impressive is how effective the Cardinals offense is. It is one thing to punt from your 30 and hit inside the 20, it is another to do it from the 50 yard line and still manage a net average of 40.6 yards.
Honorable Mentions: Shane Lechler, Dustin Colquitt
KR; Joshua Cribbs: Cleveland Browns
He is tied for the highest KR average of anyone over 40 KR. He also has the most KR TD's in the NFL.
Honorable Mention: Percy Harvin
PR; DeSean Jackson: Philadelphia Eagles
Tied for most PR TD's, had the highest PR average of anyone over 3 PR's. |
