Chad Johnson Won't Fight Anderson Silva, and This Is Why!

Earlier today I posted piece about the main reason Chad Ocho Cinco should fight Anderson Silva (Which is here).  A lot of people would love to see this bout happen so they could see Chad get his bell rung by someone other than Ray Lewis.

While I am one of those that would love to see this fight happen (because of the money it would raise), it will not happen.

There are several key reasons why this will not happen, and all of them circle around Ocho's real job, football!

The fight in question is rumored to be taking place at UFC 108.  That fight is tentatively scheduled to take place in Las Vegas.  That is no where close to New York, where the Bengals will take on the Jets.  That would mean he would fight and play football in less than 18 hours...  Not very likely!

The other reason that this will not happen is because Chad is having an incredible season.  It is very much welcomed from the fans, players, and coaches of the Bengals after last season lack of production.

No amount of money in the world is worth losing their top wide receiver for the last game of the season (he may sit anyway), and possibly the playoffs.  They would rather put up the million bucks or so the fight would earn themselves!

I want to see this fight happen, but the timing does not meet the rumors.  If it happens, it wont be at this event.

What I do see happening, is Ocho doing some sort of television show in the off season like Shaq did with Shaq Vs.  Instead, they could do a 5 or 6 part series on Spike detailing Chad's training, and build up for a fight between him and Anderson Silva to headline a free Fight Night card.
