To Raider fans Jamarcus Russell at times can make you pull your hair out. Sometimes he seems like he doesn't care and lately this has began to anger the patient fans of the Raider Nation.

To be completely honest I was not expecting any good news this week. The only news I could hear that was positive were the words from the likes of the always talented Damali and many other positive B/R fans.

Although nothing seemed eminent but trash talk and bust talk I heard something positive. This may have been a huge step for Jamarcus Russell and the Raiders.

On Thursday Jamarcus acknowledged that he had been under performing and from his attitude he wants to succeed. This is exactly what he said.

"There were mistakes out there. Everybody saw that. Good or bad, take that in stride and learn from it."

"There are alot of things, whether it's staying on a guy too long, or whatever it is, putting the ball in a better place for a guy to catch or get us into the right checks."

"We still have a lot of football to go, just clean up some things within ourselves. It's going to be OK, I promise. Just take my word. ... Just take my word that things are going to get better. I can't tell you when, but I know they are."

Now this is what various people have said about this.

Charlie Frye: 'Russell arrived at the team's facility at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday  the earliest he's seen him there all year.'

TOM CABLE: "I've seen a little more attention to some things, which is good" . He's in here early, he's working at it. The fact that he's had a chance to look at it after Sunday and take some responsibility for those kinds of things. It just adds to his motivation. He's got to get better."

Greg Ellis: "He just has to be able to look himself in the mirror and say, 'I'm doing the best that I can do. I'm preparing the right way. As long as JaMarcus can do that, he'll be fine. His skill level is high. God blessed him with a lot of talent. If he does that, does everything, unturns every stone, then eventually he'll be one of those great quarterbacks in the NFL. On the flip side, if he looks in the mirror and says, 'I'm really not doing everything I can do to be the best I can be,' then that's on him."

However way you may have interpreted this info Jamarcus is trying, he is trying to right his wrongs and change his life. Jamarcus wants to succeed whether you see it or not he is.

What we must do as the Raider Nation is to sit, wait and watch. Nobody but God and Jamarcus can know how great he can be. ESPN doesn't know, analysts don't know, we don't know.

The only thing I know and can guarantee is that Jamarcus Russell will try, may he fail or not he will now know from this day forward that he gave it his all.
