Andre Iguodala on Kevin Durant After Warriors' Win: 'He Kinda Reminded Me of MJ'

Rob GoldbergMay 6, 2018

Kevin Durant scored 38 points in the Golden State Warriors' 118-92 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday, and his teammates were impressed, including Andre Iguodala:

"He kinda reminded me of MJ," the guard said. "I don't like that comparison, but he got to his spots and there's nothing you can do about it. And when you see that look in his face, it carries over to the rest of the guys, and we can, in turn, take that to the defensive end, get stops, go back and do the same thing."

While Durant has a long way to go to catch Michael Jordan—who has six NBA championships and 10 scoring titles—in individual and team accomplishments, the Warriors star can be as dominant at times on both ends of the court.

Durant finished Sunday's game 15-of-27 from the field in his best shooting effort of the playoffs, adding nine rebounds and five assists. He is averaging 28.8 points per game in this series and 28.4 per game overall in the postseason.

Although the Warriors have one of the deepest teams in the NBA with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green all capable of carrying the squad on a given night, Durant has easily been Golden State's best player over the first nine games of the playoffs.

This was arguably the case during last year's postseason as well, as he took home the 2017 NBA Finals MVP while winning his first championship.

Considering Jordan averaged 33.4 PPG during his playoff career, however, Durant may never reach Jordan's rarefied air.
