Latest on Mathis' Timeline to Return

Wednesday, Sept. 14

Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said Mathis is considered day-to-day, according to Adam Green of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM.

Mike Jurecki of Fox Sports 910 reported on Sept. 13 that Mathis could miss one to four weeks with a foot sprain.

Mathis Is Vital to Cardinals' Interior Offensive Line

Mathis, 34, remains an excellent interior lineman, though he did have surgery on his ankle in the offseason and battled through a number of injuries with the Denver Broncos in 2015. He signed with the Cardinals in March on a one-year deal.

Earl Watford replaced Mathis in Week 1 and should move into the starter's role if Mathis is forced to the sidelines again.
