
Real Madrid Transfer News: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Denies Los Blancos Claim
Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has said he would consider leaving the Bundesliga outfit only if Real Madrid came calling.
He reportedly told German TV station ZDF Monday (h/t Sky Sports), "The only club that could move me away from Dortmund is Real Madrid, and no other [club] in this moment."
However, on Wednesday, Aubameyang took to Instagram to deny making those comments:

The Gabon international had an exceptional season with BVB last term, in which he scored 39 goals in all competitions and laid on 12 assists to boot.

During the DFB-Pokal final against Bayern Munich, DW Sports' Stefan Bienkowski hailed his ability to help his team even when they're forced to keep things tight against strong opponents:
While Real are rarely forced onto the defensive, such an ability would come in handy should they find themselves on the back foot against Barcelona and help prevent their attack from being left isolated upfield.
However, after Mats Hummels left for Bayern Munich and Henrikh Mkhitaryan departed for Manchester United, Bienkowski noted it is imperative that Dortmund keep hold of Aubameyang:

Fortunately for BVB, Real have little need for him right now. Aside from their first-choice front three, Madrid have also brought Alvaro Morata back to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, so they won't lack for firepower or cover if the Spaniard stays.
Whether a specific player is actually needed before buying a star doesn't always enter the equation at Real Madrid, but it would seem highly unlikely they'll go for Aubameyang this summer.
