“I’m feeling good!” Verrett said, per Ricky Henne of Chargers.com:
"I’m just grinding. I’m feeling better and walking better. I’m rehabbing hard and spending as much time at the facility as possible to get back right. I’m up here every day. I’m here Monday through Saturday. I’m feeling better now, and I’m excited to start killing it in rehab. It was hard on me mentally more even, but I’m doing better.

Ricky Henne of the Chargers' official website announced that Verrett suffered a partially torn ACL. Verrett was tested after complaining of knee soreness and received the results on Tuesday, per Henne.

What Verrett's Injury Means for Chargers
Verrett, 25, notched 13 tackles and one interception in four games in 2016.
His loss is a major one for the Chargers, as Verrett is their best defensive player. He appeared in 14 games last year, registering 47 tackles and three interceptions in his second season.
He also made a name for himself around the league, making the 2015 Pro Bowl.
The Chargers attempted to build around Verrett in the secondary this offseason, signing Dwight Lowery and Casey Hayward. The team also drafted edge-rusher Joey Bosa, who was brought aboard to take some pressure off the defensive backs by generating a consistent pass rush alongside Melvin Ingram.
But Verrett remains the defense's jewel. In June, Sam Monson of Pro Football Focus ranked Verrett as the 44th-best player in football:
"The highest coverage grade in 2015 among corners that played primarily on the outside was from Jason Verrett. He also had an outstanding grade as a rookie, albeit in a season cut short by injury. The numbers and tape suggests that Jason Verrett is on the verge of becoming one of the league’s best cornerbacks if he can stay healthy and on the field. That is the big knock on his play; in two NFL seasons, he has missed time in each, and has been a little lightweight against the run. However, in terms of pure coverage play, there have been few better CBs over the past couple of seasons.
"
His injury history is indeed becoming a major issue, as Verrett missed 12 games in his first two seasons. This latest knock will create concern in San Diego that he won't be able to stay on the field consistently.
